Xiaomi Box Android TV Box

I am using MR 1Gbps and dual band ac1750 TPlink router. My MI box is connected wirelessly to 5GHz brandwidth, can watch youku , icntv, live tv shows smoothly without VPN subscription.

I have also upgraded to the latest xiaomi fw and there is no problem as feedback by others.

Every single source at least 1+MB/sec speed.
Even sohu, pptv, tuduo that previously cannot connect also at least 1+MB/sec speed can watch smooth smooth now.

Hi All

found that my speed test result on xiaomi box using Lan cable is slower than WIFI... 20Mbps vs 45Mbps, any1 know why?

i am using starhub 100Mbps cable...tried the same Lan on my laptop, its 95+Mbps...

omfg wtf i had the same, my USB>RJ45 just came, and i tried and i get 25M+ when LAN, my wireless fetch me 35M+...lol hahaha

managed to connect to my 5ghz network and get 40-60M....but very sad coz moli and all other apps are giving crap speed again...at this hour...unbelievable...qiyi and letv still can't buff from moli...

i think depends on which CDN the video is streaming from bah.

what app you use to watch youku and icntv? thought icntv is blocked by default?

ICNTV is the default xiaomi apps and using Youku V2.5.

With starhub 300Mbps icntv verification failed and youku always buffering and only can watch in low resolution.

After switch to MR 1Gbps icntv able to watch and most of the apps (Youku, Tudou, LeTV) able to stream smoothly in ultra clear resolution.

And best of all no need to pay extra like VQ freedom VPN.

Not sure why there are so many negative feedback with MR but so far it has been good for me.

depending on what kind of media.
iptvs no problem.
only sometimes media from app lags alot.
with the "vpn" on, streams are smooth.

i purchased a 3 months sub previously,
expiring soon and i think i've used less than 10 or 15 occasion only, they having a promo now. till 18/11 half price. 360rmb for a year.
thinking whether to continue or not.

the vpn seems to slow down my connection after using it lol

im on MR Ultra plan last time youku cant view at hd resolution from the box at all not smooth, havent tried to use the app since.

I am also using AC1750 wireless router and my xiaomi connect to 5Ghz bandwidth, speed test is much faster vs 2.4Ghz. approx 450kbps and up to 1.2Mbps

yeah the one with quite low ratings,install and launch, they will activate...then tell u how many days left etc..

sometimes i lost all connections totally, i have to plug n unplug my power cable and restore the connection

I also M1, without the VPN, iqiyi is quite slow at most can watch 高清. LeTV is good can watch at 超清. Not sure why you getting crap speed. On wired or wifi also the same for me.

Yes correct. After you activate, and exit the app, you try go back into the app to see if it is still activated?

I find that on 小米盒子 app, it can't activate.
I use sofa launcher it will stay activated.

regardless if on 100mb or 1GB plan, the bottle neck is still the link between SG and CN. unless using VPN with local CN server will help to provide better speed for buffering.
