Think zenfone 2 battery very short. Like that where got good?

Get about the same 1 day of batt on moderate usage. They are also constantly updating the firmware for this.

care to elaborate? i considered the 2 and chose the mi4i

Zero lag, zero stuttering, everything just works. More lollipop feel with ZenUI like pull down lockscreen notifications, toggles and app switcher unlike the crap that is MIUI.

I daresay ZenFone 2 is faster than even the Mi Note.

What do u mean by same? Meaning u tried both phones and the remaining percentage of battery about the same at the end of day?

I ditched Mi4i for ZenFone 2 so don't you think I've owned and used both phones already? Considering ZenFone 2 has a 5.5 inch screen, batt usage between the 2 is not much difference. MIUI is badly optimised to begin with.

Don't you? They release changelogs for every update telling you exactly what has improved unlike Xiaomi.

Updade on my with Xiaomi regarding refund for Mi4i

(previously on this forum): if you have not heard, I am trying to get refund for Mi4i which I bought in July and used for less than a month. Phone is unusable with constant lags with all apps and disconnection of the cellular network when used with two SIMs.

I had extensive email exchange with consumer support and messaging with their FB page. At the end I went to support office at the Central where I obtained the support case stating that I want refund.

I received at the end phone calls from China (the phone starts with +86 country code) and the following email:

Thank you so much for your supporting.
It is regarding your issue about the refund of your Mi4i, it is regrettable that we are unable to proceed refund to you.
There is no refund and return policy in Singapore, but we can try to provide one replacement for you about this issue.
Would you like to a replacement instead ? May we know the details about your phone issue ?
Please no worries , the issue should be solved accordingly after it is replaced.
Looking forward to hearing from you at the soonest.
Bolding mine in this quote.

To this I have sent following email:
-----------------------
First of all, let me tell you thank you for calling me and provide explanation over the phone and via email.

However, your clam that you can't provide refund in Singapore just because you do not have refund policy is in direct violation of "Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act and Hire Purchase Act (Lemon Law)".

You might do not live in Singapore or are not aware of that law, but "Under the existing law, a consumer is entitled to reject the goods and obtain a refund when they are not of satisfactory quality at the time of delivery".

This quote above is taken from the website of Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore

The Lemon Law has been in effect since September 1, 2012. You can find more at CASE (Consumer Association of Singapore) website

While I do appreciate your offer to replace the phone, multiple users of this (and other) models in Singapore witnessed same and other problems.

Wrapping up everything:

- I still would like to get refund for my phone
- Your statement of inability to provide refund due to absence of such policy is direct violation of Singapore law

I still want to resolve this matter peacefully without the need to involve third parties and judicial system.

If you provide refund for the phone (which according to your technicians is in excellent condition), we can part ways and do our business. If not, well, I am quite sure that your management will NOT find it pleasing the negative publicity coming from the case in court.

Once again hoping for the satisfactory resolution.

Thanks and hope to hear from you soon,

Waiting for their response.

P.S. I am quite sure that direct violation of the law is inadmissible in the court. Any of you had cases going into small claims court and vendor there claiming that can't refund because they do not have policy?

FYI, the lemon law highlights 3 phases; repair, replace, refund

have to go thru the 3 phases step-by-step

"However, a consumer must give the retailer a reasonable time to comply with the requested remedy (e.g. replacement or repair) before seeking an alternative remedy (such as refund or reduction of price)."
https://www.mti.gov.sg/legislation/...(Fair-Trading)-Act-and-Hire-Purchase-Act.aspx

hope you manage to resolve the problem; good luck

It do not has to be 3 phases. Good sold does not match the specification and if the seller cannot resolved it. You too can use Lemon law.

For example, phone advertised as dual 4G but in the end it is not. If maker unable to fix it and later claim it is 1 4G and the other one is 2G only. By all means, apply lemon law.

Another good example is LCD TV. If salesman told you the model is DVBT2 tuner supported. But later you find out this is not true and you have enough proof that item was sole to you base on correct understanding of you can use DVBT2. Then Lemon law can be applied in the case, unless seller provide an alternative for you, eg, a external DVBT2 tuner.

My Sony Z3c recently have to send in for repair after using only for 6 months. So I got Mi4i to use temporary. For a $270 phone, it is really excellent, the battery last as long as my z3c, the screen is superior and even the cam is quite good.
I quite like using this phone.
