My Sony Z3c recently have to send in for repair after using only for 6 months. So I got Mi4i to use temporary. For a $270 phone, it is really excellent, the battery last as long as my z3c, the screen is superior and even the cam is quite good.
I quite like using this phone.

i dont think the camera is good. i did a side by side with LG G3 shot of low lit scene to challenge the camera.

when zoom to 100% crop, the g3 images are sharp and can see the text on the xiaomi shipping box (which is very small, distance of 2m) while the mi4i pictures become a complete mush, cant see a single letter on the label.

for the same exposure, the g3 shot at 1/11s and ISO500 while the mi4i shot at 1/17 and ISO800

i tried to change iso to 400 and 200 but the image still remain mushy.

this whole personal test of mine goes against the results of gsmarena studio test where the g3 and mi4i basically have the same quality images and the zenfone 2 falls behind significantly (like really bad). this comparison was an important factor for me choosing the mi4i over the zf2

also someone please tell me if the update is really hurting the phone batt life? i got it recently and immediately updated to the latest from 6.6.x to 6.7.2

I experienced this in the update before the latest one. I posted here previously but didn't post a photo yet.

Sent from Xiaomi MI 4I using GAGT

nope, no such problems, very loud from speaker even for 50% setting.

check your audio output to headphones? or noise supress using 1 mic or 2 mic

Update - refund will be issued

After having number of calls and emails with Xiaomi customer service from China, today got email and then - after visiting their customer service center at Central - receipt for refund which will be credited back to my card in 5 business days.

Lesson for me and everybody as well - you need to know you rights and be ready to fight for them using all means possible. As we, in States say - "you ask none, you get none".

Tell every vendor, every seller that bullsh$t "we can't replace/return because we do not have such policy" they can stick in the place where sun does not shine. And you need to politely and firm - no emotions - tell them that whatever they are doing are against the law and they will be find guilty in courts if the case reaches them.

If you know that you are right, stand your ground and keep pressing (again - politely) them until either you get when you are entitled, or once you've determined that there is no positive resolution - go to courts.

Good luck everyone.

P.S. I've asked the guy how many refunds they've issued. He said "very few, things like yours do not happen".
