I've been exchanging email with the customer center, FB messages and finally visited the service center at the Central because they've insisted it.

They guy at the service center told me that they can't issue refunds but can take phone for repair but "there are no guarantee that problems will be gone" - actual quote.

Also, new discovery in the list of problems - the phone was powered off and fully charged the day before I took it at the service center - when he tried to power it on, the battery was flat. Get this - battery got flat from 100% to zero from powered off phone in 12 hours.

Well, I went back to the email to customer service and told them everything I thought about the phone and their service. I made clear that I expect refund, not repair or replacement.

Now I am waiting for the response.
suggest to review link below & use it to highlight to xiaomi customer service

suppose they don't offer a refund (because of company policy etc.), what are you going to do?

Go to small claims tribunal and at the same time write to every single media outlet in Singapore what 'product' they are selling.

One crucial error I made was to purchase this 'product' with my prepaid card. Instead if I'd buy it with my US issued card I could simple call to the card's benefit department and claim refund back to the card.

If want to go small claims tribunal, please claim from qualcomm as well. Qualcomm is the main culprit for your problems, the Snapdragon615 is easily overheat. Once overheat it will start throttling the CPU core and speed hence you feel the lag.

Mi4i 32GB delivered this morning. Feels light and set up just completed. MIUI version is 6.6.1.0. I like the weight and is generally quite snappy. Will observe for 2-3 days. Came with some sim card adapter and 3 pin plug adapter. Will be looking for a screen protector next.

Don't buy Mi4i lah. Get Samsung S6 which cost 4x more, you wouldn't have such problems.

Well, if you need to travel to and from service center a few time. Time spent and transport expenses may justify you a s6.

that's why i recommend just get S6...don't think too much!

Some phones are meant to be back up budget phones for a reason, demand too much from them, you'll be disappointed.

Well, at least they must work as advertised! Like the dual 4G thing. Is not true at all.

Been a day of light use. System update prompting the phone to be updated to 6.6.10 popped out. Will delay updating the phone. Nothing negative for now. It will do well for me as a work phone. Mi SG sells the soft case for Mi4i. Is it the soft clear case? Worth buying? The flip case is OOS.

have been using 6.6.10 for a while and so far is okay. There is a new feature in the updates - Double tap to wake under display setting. Very useful and convenient feature to use imo :D

Not all Snapdragon 615 are the same. The one on Mi4i is second gen with higher clock speed of up to 1.7Ghz while 1st is 1.5Ghz.
So made a big announcement just for development ROM. Not even a stable version!

Come on lah, when android m was announced, it is first come out as a preview. When iOS9 announced, it come out with a beta. Both company also did have a big presentation for their announcement.

True, or the note5. People are demanding too much for a budget phone.
