Read 50 earlier posts before this post and you will know what's happening to your phone.

U mean its bootlocked?

Sorry I'm not a techie, hope to understand in simple language.

Been trying to find the easiest way to flash global rom but to no avail.

Hope to get some help.

Thanks.

not only your device is bootloader locked, you need to go into fastboot mode (xiaomi bunny screen) to flash the device, not recovery mode (phone and cable screen).

Hi, thanks for helping me understand.

After reading many pages, of the miui forum, is it true that I can only flash by requesting for unlock of the bootloader and use fastboot (bunnyflash) method?

Or is there another way to do without unlocking? Had the phone for almost 2 days, yet unable to use it.

Hope you can show me the light! Thank you!

you can try this method.

I suggest to request unlock of the bootloader and it would be alot easier to flash other roms.

The new MIui update for the global rom is good. So far everything seems faster and more polished.

are you rooted? did u change the host file b4(usually those apps that block ads will change host file). if you did, you need to edit the host files to make google app store work.

in 8.0.3(or2).0 forgot the number, GPS is hard to get lock. but it does get a lock like in about 5 mins time...

there is a new update to 8.0.5.0, GPS is not an issue, locks very quickly. but i think this is not a stable release yet..

looks like asus zenfone 3 ze520kl is a good replacement for Mi5 3/32 if SG price is a concern. Overall speed performance comparable though is using SD625. But it also has the 2.5D glass, 4 ois thingy for shaky hand and sdcard slot. :s8:

From asus product website

SIM Cards
Dual SIM card
SIM 1: 2G/3G/4G Micro SIM Card
SIM 2: 2G/3G/4G Nano SIM Card
Dual SIM Dual Standby
Only use the nano SIM card or the microSD card at a time
Both SIM card slots support 3G WCDMA/ 4G LTE network band. But only one SIM card can connect to 3G WCDMA/ 4G LTE service at a time.
