Going to try later, apparently the new global rom update set the mi pay as default. You need to set it to "hce"
Tested and android pay is working after locking bootloader and set default payment to hce.

It's the cheapest flagship you can buy now. It depends if specs is more important or performance is more important...

You cannot find a better phone for the price.
I use dual Sim on 4g and I never ran out of battery if I go out 100% charged. If there's a zombie outbreak, this is the phone I want.. Not some iPhone 7 with limited battery power.
The size and form factor is nice.

Currently, I am using a note 3 and would like to move over to something smaller in size. The note 3 is a pain to carry in the formal attire pants pocket.

The SwiftKey lags on my mi5 when i minimize whatsapp, it will stay a second or half... Abit annoying. Notsure why. Never encounter this on my opx...

Frankly speaking, this screen is small for me when i am using mi max concurrently.

I felt that mi5's idle and usage battery life is no good. At the same time, i can't seem to find that the performance is better than my mi max.

Not sure if this current firmware is problematic...

mine is ok, the lag for google keyboard, google pinyin input and swiftkey are the same. when minimizing whatsapp, whatsapp will disappear first follow by the keyboard. the lag is not half or a second. I am using 64gb running with global 8.0.5.0.

Thanks, just now got the chance to test the android pay. Although abit slow to detect, manage to tap using the phone after this setting. Thanks.

No problem. The NFC thing is located at the top so it easier to detect if you place the phone align to the reader.
