the reason why there is global rom is coz of india's official release. release in sg we are all waiting for official news which there isn't as of now

remember

1) Disable the device signature on Windows 8 and above...best way is to temporary disable it from booting via setup...search miui forum, someone show how it can be done...if not the qualcom driver cannot be loaded
2) If you can unlock the bootloader, MiFlash is the easiest way
3) You cannot use recovery to convert China Rom to Global Rom
4) Use latest Miflash

Your 1st time experience with xiaomi phones or china phones in general? china models/roms dun have google play services preinstalled so users like us have to sideload, or at least retailers sideload for us.

Global rom for a start just means its meant for the international market, other than china, that has google play services. It does not define where is it sold

Where and when its sold in countries is set by xiaomi, not by the release of its "rom"

Hi, to mi5 owners

Can you actually force 4g connection by dialing *#*4636*#* or using 4g LTE switch app.I tried it on my friend's redmi note 3 pro (not the same phone but using miui none the less).
Seems like it disabled the network instead.
Makes me wonder if it's miui issues.

Also, may I know the average battery life you guys are getting?
I saw SOT on techtablets youtube channel reaching +7 hrs which is quite a stretch for a 3000mah battery.
