It's not really that obvious at low brightness. It started selling in HK in August for 1799 hkd, and I dropped by the shop to see the demo.

Too expensive and is more like a A2.1 than A3

Briefly tried out the Mi A3 at Mi Store JEM, first thing that struck me was the saturated colours of the AMOLED display rather than the 720p resolution. Personally I think don't brush it off just because on paper 720p looks bad. Not too bad considering I am using Pocophone F1 and Mi A2 both of which use 1080p IPS LCD displays. Plus the phone size is more manageable than the other 2 as well. :s13:

I just tried it out at Mi store eastpoint too. Agree with you, can't really find fault with the display either. Size is manageable

The pixels is visible when u put the phone close to your eyes to see. However I feel it's not a deal breaker cos very less often u will stare at such a close range. The pixelisation is there, but the screen is compensated with it's bright and vibrant colors.

What is more of a deal breaker is the lack of NFC and using SD 665. Would have been a great secondary phone that can use to pay for stuff and act as EZ-Link card hah

Yeah I agree. Still hard to find a truly budget phone with NFC now, something that Xiaomi can't achieve still. :s13:
