i just notice something very scary. not sure if it happens to anyone of your sets.

quite long never use the phone, i just remove it from the handphone casing it seems that probably the battery or something inside swelled up and now half of my screen is bloating out very evidently from the sides.. tried to press it down to snap it back but cant press down at all

Just likes any car or machinery or even your laptop or PC!

The "engine" or battery in this case, needs to be started and operated once in a while to prevent it from "self-destruction" as a result of long period of inactivity.

Not all the time but well, probably your battery is not a good "quality" one out of the factory in this case! Just slightly unlucky for you!

It happened to my Samsung S5. Both main battery and standby battery went bloated after a few never use. Can't even use as standby phone now.

My WhatsApp LED Noti works fine too on the other set running eu rom 9.2.1.0.

Battery need to be charged once a while.
Anyway, S5 is not to bad as you can get a new battery to replace it easily.

Hmm... Probably they had damaged it or a loose connection after repair?

Or you can check this if the location is switched on or off with High accuracy?

Double check cable connection, it could be one side not fitted in properly (after confirming there's no software issue, I.e setting, factory reset...)
