Huh!!! I think I just discovered the catch... "Turn off mobile data when device is locked" = [in 5 mins].
Anyway thanks for all kind suggestions. Sometimes we just need someone to guide around & all of sudden discover something useful.

I didn't do the SIM card imposed on SD card idea as described by the video, but just sharing based on my experience with cutting of older SIM card into nano size.

And yes, older SIM card is slightly thicker than newer tri-sized SIM card that telcos now issue. This had caused some problem for me when I'm using SIM adapter to use the various phones that need to use back the standard size and micro size factors. So I used some sand paper on the back of the SIM card to make it slightly thinner so that it can be flush with the adapter's thickness.

Sigh yes.. Bought mi max for my mum early Sep and she dropped it recently. Screen cracked. :( But I also heard from Samsung guy that many bring in their s7 edge for repairs cos the screen crack very easily. So I guess no difference in that sense.

bought one for my gf who also said that the battery is better than iPhone, can last two days.

MIUI + Snapdragon 650 is crazy fast also. Only a very tiny bit slower than my iPhone SE at loading apps and webpages. I'm very impressed for a phone that cost only $240..

For some reason it doesn't seem to last as long as I thought it would... initially could go a few days, but now one day with Pokemon Go!

one full charge can last me comfortably for two days, at least.
on MIUI 7, play services at version 8.3.00.
usage: browsing, music, wechat.
never close the apps too, which resulted longer standby of 60+hrs and shorter SOT of 8hrs.
otherwise, shorter standby of 1.5day and longer SOT like 10hrs.

unable to open sim card tray

eh i just got my mi max from lazada. cant seem to open up the sim card tray slot anyone have this issue ?
