Where do you guys get your tempered glass protectors? Some of the reviews I see on qoo10 are quite bad

The set is reseal by reseller after they break the original seal to install playstore.
If you observe carefully, you will notice the seal you have is different from original seal.

You can search on YouTube to see how ppl use hotair gun to do the seal.

Received mine yesterday. Sealed package.
Haven set up it yet but I have switched it on and I noticed that playstore is showing on my screen. Is it normal?

I thought china ROM will not have playstore?

Checked if the pre-installed MIUI ROM is the same as the MIUI ROM on http://en.miui.com/, some resellers preload a tampered MIUI ROMs which may take some confidential infos of yours.

I don't know if this is normal for China ROM Xiaomi phones or not but ....

When there is an update available like Whatsapp, why does the phone always go Mi App Store to update itself instead of Google Playstore?

The reaction is the same when i try to download some new themes for my Amber Weather Widget. It goes into Mi App Store to locate the themes, and never to Google Playstore .... which means i can never download any new themes

I feel your frustration coz I owned a China Redmi note 2 and I sold it off too. Sg local note 2 does not have this MI App Store install and work perfectly with Google play store. Maybe someone who is expert of rooting the phone can help on it.

You could have install the global rom on your Redmi note 2. Problem solved.

Maybe you can try turn off everything from setting->system apps->app store.

You could have install the global rom on your Redmi note 2. Problem solved.

May I know It is easy to install global ROM? Any risk of brick the phone? That why I waiting for official sg version.
As i am the kind of user who just charged and use and don't go into customize and rooting the phone.

Just uninstall the MI App store if your primary application is with Google play store.
Remember China rom version is not suppose to have Google play store.

Yes. My Xiaomi note phone was bought from China. No way I could Uninstall the Mi App Store.

Uninstall mi app store

You can't install mi app without rooting. It is a system app.
Furthermore if you manage to uninstall it, you will probably get a bootloop.
Therefore it is wiser to freeze it with titanium backup after you root instead of uninstalling.
