LG just died... so thinking maybe should just buy best bang for buck TVs instead...
Looks like MiTV2 might just fit the bill... haha... wifey may not agree though... hmm...
I experienced what you going thru now in Jan 2015. Right after 3yrs warranty, my LG 42LV5500 died. I bought a cheap SkyWorth 42" LED TV @ $430 then. Because I feel that I paid about $1K for the LG TV but it still died on me right after 3yrs.
Expensive stuffs doesn't guarantee that it'll last. It is like what my friend says "Heng suay". So might as well "heng suay" with cheaper ones.
Just tell your wife that a 4K 55" from LG / Samsung will cost about $3.5K range. Mi TV2 is about $1.3K. If the Mi TV2 can last 1yr, already "so-called" breakeven. 2yrs good. If last 3yrs or more, it is super bonus.
I also planned to get the Mi TV2. I tried finding spare parts on Aliexpress for Mi TV2 and seems to be quite alot. I guess also that spare parts for Mi TV2 should be easier to find than for LG / Samsung model.
But now I am waiting for the T-con board for my LG 42LV5500 to reach me. Will put in to test, if working, ho say. If not, sian liao .... must spend $$ again.
