think they are all almost the same. it's just the design and the panel manufacturer to consider. xiaomi does looks better to me.

I agree with you. Think they provide 1mth warranty, 1 to 1. Just top up $25 and they'll install YouTube for you.

But I am not sure whether to pay $150 for the soundbar + sub woofer or not. Can anybody offer some advice? Whether to get or not? Worth it or not.

Imo its not worth getting the soundbar + subwoofer. I mean like seriously. Since when serious sound is just a soundbar... Need least stereo 2.0 . It's just pathetic to see one soundbar there.

I am wondering this also. That's why I wanna ask for review here.

Actually from the review on the video, the sound bar & sub woofer is quite worth getting.

The soundbar and subwoofer does have good audio quality. I trust xiaomi. But even then. Its a soundbar... U have a 2ears. So least need 2 speakers. The soundbar is only worth if u plan to add speakers with it to make it surround sound theatre or smth

LG just died... so thinking maybe should just buy best bang for buck TVs instead...

Looks like MiTV2 might just fit the bill... haha... wifey may not agree though... hmm...

So I guess it depends on what a person wants.

For some people, anything less than 7.1 is a compromise. But for some, got sound can already.

I experienced what you going thru now in Jan 2015. Right after 3yrs warranty, my LG 42LV5500 died. I bought a cheap SkyWorth 42" LED TV @ $430 then. Because I feel that I paid about $1K for the LG TV but it still died on me right after 3yrs.

Expensive stuffs doesn't guarantee that it'll last. It is like what my friend says "Heng suay". So might as well "heng suay" with cheaper ones.

Just tell your wife that a 4K 55" from LG / Samsung will cost about $3.5K range. Mi TV2 is about $1.3K. If the Mi TV2 can last 1yr, already "so-called" breakeven. 2yrs good. If last 3yrs or more, it is super bonus.

I also planned to get the Mi TV2. I tried finding spare parts on Aliexpress for Mi TV2 and seems to be quite alot. I guess also that spare parts for Mi TV2 should be easier to find than for LG / Samsung model.

But now I am waiting for the T-con board for my LG 42LV5500 to reach me. Will put in to test, if working, ho say. If not, sian liao .... must spend $$ again.

Yah, now the suay part is that LG no longer produces the spare parts for my TV which is barely 4 years old! Planned obsolescence indeed! Got no choice but to buy new TV - but will I still buy LG?

Actually, how do you know for certain that it is the T-con board that failed?

So, for MiTV2, have you shortlisted any particular Qoo10 seller? Pls PM me if not good to post here.

Precisely, all the more reason we don't buy expensive TV.

I went through some YouTube video and conclude that it could be the T-con board that is spoilt. Another main reason is because the exact T-con board is available for sale on Aliexpress for SGD$22 (with shipping).

So just buy it to try. If cannot, then will have to spend $$ buy new one already.

There are a few seller on Qoo10. But whether good or not, I can't comment liao.
