Hi Guys

I need some help. I'm not able to operate my MiTV. Just now when I power off, the tv auto on and reflect the 'Mi' logo. Its been like that for few hours. I tried to off the power source and when I on it, its still the same. I can no longer shut off the tv.

I tried the 'swiping' recovery method and it doesn't work as well... :(

I accidentally upgraded the firmware before my last shut down. Not sure if this the reason affecting the tv.

Anyone encounter this situation?

Crap. You mean you accidentally upgraded to 1.1.92 and then your TV becomes like that? If that is really the case, really damn jialat.

When did you bought your Mi TV 2?

From your description, it seems like the Mi TV 2 is stuck in a boot loop.

The firmware upgrade is the only change I did before my tv got hang.

Sigh... now I dunno what to do with the tv. I bought it from someone from Carousell. Hope he can do something to help me. :(

Seem to be the issue here with the firmware upgrade. Is there a way to stop future upgrade by accident?

Can you confirm whether you upgraded to 1.1.92?

Also, maybe you can check with the seller and get them to find out the solution from their side?

Please continue to update us on the progress here.

No. There is NO option to permanently disable the TV firmware upgrade notification.

The only way is to select "No" everytime the prompt to upgrade pops up. Sad thing is that if the prompt pops up when parent or older people are using, they may just blur blur and select "Yes".

That was how my Mi TV 2 firmware got upgraded from 1.1.70 (Best firmware so far) to 1.1.82.

Your Mi TV 2 still on firmware 1.1.70 right?

Root your tv and freeze the update.

This method works. Thank God. I manage to contact the reseller in China who had been really helpful. She assisted me to contact the Xiaomi technical support and communicated with me via whatsapp simultaneously. Kudos to her service!

It is still unconfirmed whether the firmware update caused the error. But most likely it is. So pls avoid upgrading this AT ALL COST. Even if really suay suay upgrade accidentally, juz follow the steps provided in the link. The catch is, it will reset your tv to factory setting.

After I'm done going through the steps, my current firmware is back to 1.1.70. So far so good...

Maybe this is a silly thought, can I plug in a USB DVB-T2 into the port to receive HD Ch?

You have lots of out of box ideas! Not sure if this will work, but if you have a pc in between, the hdmi output from the pc should work. This particular model can do time shift even.

Ya maybe because I'm not so techie person when it comes to TV stuffs. My current LED doesn't have the HD channel. So thinking if a USB stick can just plug into the on its way MiTV3 since it is like a Android Box. But having it to use a PC at the same time is not what I want.

Agree, on paper it should. The USB stick must be designed for such purpose and the Android Box must have the correct apps.

It's always fun to explore and I found that such devices already exist for handphone.
