Maybe this is a silly thought, can I plug in a USB DVB-T2 into the port to receive HD Ch?

If you use a DVB-T2 box with HDMI output, any display with HDMI input can use already right?

So of course can lah.

This method works. Thank God. I manage to contact the reseller in China who had been really helpful. She assisted me to contact the Xiaomi technical support and communicated with me via whatsapp simultaneously. Kudos to her service!

It is still unconfirmed whether the firmware update caused the error. But most likely it is. So pls avoid upgrading this AT ALL COST. Even if really suay suay upgrade accidentally, juz follow the steps provided in the link. The catch is, it will reset your tv to factory setting.

After I'm done going through the steps, my current firmware is back to 1.1.70. So far so good...

Wow!! That's good to know!

By the way, did you managed to re-install YouTube TV on the Mi TV 2 yet? Can download the apk from :

http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/youtube-for-android-tv/

And this TV Plus 2.0 apk :

I think this guy knows. That's why I said "thinking out of box" to see whether there is a better alternative :)

USB stick, if available, could save some cables and space.

Does the Xiaomi TVs support USB OTG? If yes, there are several USB-OTG sticks for Android available to watch DVB-T on phone/tablets/pads.
So as long as there is a driver to support the hardware and a software to communicate with the hardware, it definetly should be possible! Check google for some DVB-T Sticks :)

Yes, this is what I found out about the DVB-T stick too.

DVB-T is going obsolete. It is not as good as DVB-T2 as the signal level needed is higher. And the no of MediaCorp channels are limited as compared to the DVB-T2.

Yes, supports otg. Usb dvbt2 do works

Google Play air dtv II "only guarantee that the support list can be used normally. If your Android device is not in this list, please download and launch the free android app from Google Play to check whether you’ll be able to enjoy live TV with Android TV."

Dear Devilsire, have you use any Usb dvbt2 to plug into your Xiaomi TV? If yes what is the link to that USB hardware? Please share as I would be getting the TV3 and with that possible I can save space and power socket too. TIA sir.

I also bought the wall mount for the sound bar & TV together with the power grid http://world.taobao.com/item/27294540716.htm?fromSite=main

Looking to buy the USB DVB-T2 if applicable on the TV.

xiaomi tv do supports otg usb. however for dvbt2, i believe it'll ultimately depends on the device's software/app support.

Previously i bgt the mygica t360 intended for android tablet/mobile use (microusb).

With a usb-microusb adapter, i have tested it to be working good with both my pc (with t230 driver + totalmedia) as well as mitv2 (default app Padtv HD). I didnt explored much with it on mitv though as i dont really watch local tv lol. But iirc, it doesnt auto detect channels with the mitv inbuilt Digital TV app i.e the first menu where u can select HDMI/VGA/Analog/Digital sources.

So I just need to get this MyGica PT360, use a microUSB to USB adapter, plug into Mi TV 2 and I can receive DVB-T2 straight away? Which app do I use? Any drivers or whatever to install?

Nope, sorry! Actually, 1.1.92 on MiTV2 49" works pretty good. They reduced the fullscreeen adds (finally!).
No issues with soundbard or woofer. Did you try to unbind it in the bluetooth menu and start the setup again? Somewhere in the menu you can open this first-boot menu to link the bar and woofer again.

Yup, just the padtv hd app.

Driver (t230 usb model) only necessary if using with pc as the t360 default firmware is supposedly to be for android.

Do you have YouTube on your TV? Does the video appears laggy while playing? So far the YouTube video play back was fantastic on 1.1.70. Till somebody accidentally "upgraded" to 1.1.82.

Then the video playback on YouTube became laggy liao.
