I purchased a Mi TV 60", sometime in mid March, used 65daigou to help purchase and ship the TV from China over to Singapore and it arrived about 2 weeks ago, along with the sound bar and subwoofer.

After having to painstakingly remove the wooden frames that 65daigou had installed for me to protect the TV during shipment, I was excited to start plugging the cables in. I'm pretty familiar with the process as I have read many Chinese blogs and reviews on how others have unboxed all the way to setting up the TV and installing other apps on it.

Unfortunately, things were not going to go smooth for me this time round. After plugging everything in, I was getting a "black screen of death". While the sound bar had power lights, responded to the action buttons that I pressed on, and amidst my random clicking, managed to start some music and it was blasting the music out from the sound bar. The only issue is that the TV screen continued to show me nothing but a black screen.

I then tried many combinations of swapping the power cable to another electric source, tighten and ensured the power cable and Mi Port cables are plugged correctly, etc but to no avail. Contacted Xiaomi Support in China directly, sent them photos, explained the steps and symptoms I have taken and seen and they suspected it may be a TV screen defective issue and requested for me to ship it back for their checks.

Saddened with the problem that I'm facing and to make things worse, I have thrown away the boxes that came with the TV. It is going to be a problem packing it, not to say shipping it back which based on my logistics friend, is likely to cost S$700-800 minimally via sea freight one way. Then comes other potential issues such as possible damage during shipment, my inability to be present at the Xiaomi after sales support office for them to check/repair/replace, which was what Xiaomi support agents told me that I have to be present.

I then left the power running. After a few hours, I was shocked to suddenly see a blue screen showing up on the TV screen. Of course, I was extremely happy and immediately followed instructions on screen to pair my remote control and finished the setup of the TV. It all worked fine until I turned it off to test if I can turn it back on again. The happiness was short-lived and I was since unable to turn it back on.

I have tried looking for local Xiaomi TV sellers and other TV shops to see if anyone was willing to take a look and perform any repairs if possible. Unfortunately, many suspected it could be due to the screen or the Mi Port cable issue. Trying to narrow the issue, I managed to find a seller in China (from my China colleagues) and will be getting the Mi Port delivered to me by this week. Hopefully it is a Mi Port cable issue, else, short of another tested-and-working sound bar or TV screen, I have not been able to pinpoint the exact issue.

Would anyone be able to extend a desperately needed helping hand to me? Your help would be most appreciated.

I think cannot. Because for the soundbar that comes with the Mi TV 3, it only has a Mi Port cable that got Mi Port connector at both end. So you cannot output anything to other device unless you have a MiPort connector end (to the Mi TV 3 soundbar) and HDMI on the other end.

Which I don't think it comes with the standard Mi TV 3 package.

The only way now to test, is to bring the soundbar and MiPort cable to another Mi TV 3 and test it out and see how from there.

So now, it is really just the soundbar and TV screen. However, I highly suspect it is the TV screen as after I on the soundbar, I can hear sound if I keep pressing the arrow key to somewhere I can't go (imagine if you had the screen on and you are hitting an invalid selection and there's the beep beep sound).

Soundbar can pair with the subwoofer via bluetooth too (done previously when the screen happened to be working) - subwoofer had a sound when it turned on too.

I googled and found this site (http://www1.technofied.com:90/xiaomi-repair/) - called them and they said they can repair anything Xiaomi related, including TV.

Anyone tried them before?

When the Mi TV was able to work after turning on for a while, are you able to watch it normal like everything is working fine?

If they claims that they can repair, see how much they are going to charge. If they really can, that'll be great.

Has anyone manage to install Toggle App on MiTV 3. I have tried and while it said all listed devices are compatible, but the MiTV failed to open Toggle. Every time go to "new update available blah blah..."

TV go by "Vesa mount hole" 100 x 100 etc. As long as it is "Vesa mount", then usually no issue. Just get people who knows how to do wall mount.

Question guys, is anyone using an AV receiver hooked to the soundbar ?
As I understand there is a MiPort on the screen itself, no other I/O...

Does it work seamlessly just like any other TV ? how about the ARC function ?

i am.
it is supposed to work seamlessly, but somehow for mine there is no sound when hooked to avr. not sure if it is caused by my old hdmi cable.

will try when i change another hdmi cable, would be great if it works but not a dealer breaker for me as i connect my media player to my avr.

i bought my wall mount from taobao. if you already have the intention to ship the mi tv in yourself, might as well just include a tv mount from taobao. just make sure you get someone who has experience in mounting tvs to do it.

There are a few key factors on what type of screws to use. One of the most important factor will be the type of the wall.

If it is concrete wall, can use those super strong type. If it is feature wall (made of wood), it'll be more limited. Also, if you are mounting on concrete wall, the types of wall mount that you can go for will be more.

For feature walls, it'll be limited.
