Any bro in Firmware 1.20? can zip the folder system/vendor/app for me? Some of my apps broken.

Probably better to do a factory reset and upgrade firmware~

If you really want, I can pull the directory for u, but you need to manually set the permissions and don't know how you are going to guess what to set for each file.

I just found out that there is an app for the Mi Soundbar with the Subwoofer.

http://www.yqdown.com/shoujiruanjian/shoujigongju/90792.htm

Can see what the app can do :

Tested it, looks good.
And the best is, you can even use this app to control the volume of the soundbar and subwoofer with the phone while it is used by the TV :)
No need to go to TV settings anymore if the subwoofer is too loud or not loud enough :) :)

I would also suggest that you just do a factory reset.

Then follow this to change the language to English.

Native Youtube (using the apk) will sometimes be laggy because the app tries to use hardware acceleration but the driver support seems broken on current MiTV firmware (1.2.0 and 1.2.11). However this is the only way to access 4k content on Youtube currently

For smooth Youtube you can use the Kodi youtube addon (limited to 1080p). However, make sure you disable hardware acceleration in Kodi if you are not rooted. Also not the addon is not updated by the current author and this is the fix (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYVJeOFUkOo)

or Use a Chromecast (also limited to 1080p) also very smooth

I alternate between the three methods depending on my mood

Bonus TwitchTV snapshot running on Kodi on the MiTV3:

Wah, you seems like expert with Kodi. Hope you can help me out. When I access Kodi sometimes, the wordings will be unreadable boxes. It comes and goes.

Also, I want to be able to search in Chinese on Kodi but till now, can't find any workable solution.

Thanks in advance.

I tried the above. But after I click on the file, Kodi just hang there. Any tips?

Updates : Ok. I managed to installed according to the video above. Apparently, my YouTube is supposed to be signed in to one Gmail account. Kodi show 2 strings of keys which I need to key on my desktop PC.

I did that and the installation completed. Will test more and update.

Wrong font. Just go to system settings under skin section and change to Arial or Arial based.

Thanks for all your reply. I've tried with all factory reset, also enter recovery mode to wipe all the data, restart to both dual system but end up all still bring me to FW1.2.0.

In FW 1.2.0, I wish to update to 1.2.11, but it failure at 85%.

For what I read from the xiaomi forum, this 85% failure is caused by internal app broken or damage.

I tried extract the failure log from the system, it shown 1 of the app checksum not correct.
Screen%20Shot%202016-04-26%20at%209.17.59%20PM_zpsyaegjq5m.png

It is true when I check this app, 0 Bytes.

But the log only can show 1 error per each update, I need to try several attempt to recover all my broken app in order to make the update. But at least I can refer to the log file & only recover neccessary apps.

Hope you all can share & zip the folder system/vendor/app for me:):)

Wah lau, you are damn good with Kodi. Now I can see Chinese also liao. Gam xia very much.

Another 2 more things that I remember :

1. How to set default video quality to be 1080p, if not available, it'll go for 720p and so on.

2. How to allow me to search by keying in Chinese wordings?

I tested this with a2dp sink mode on
LVldwKs.jpg

Results:

Unable to pair device(phone) with MiTV soundbar if TV is off or TV is in standby mode.

If device is ALREADY paired, I am able to play music to the MiTV Soundbar IF it is in standby mode, but NOT if it is off.

TL:DR You can play music in bluetooth a2dp sink mode if the devices have already been paired and connected, and if the MiTV is not off (either ON or in Standby mode)

Thanks.

How about when the soundbar is in standby mode (will it automatically be turned off?) does the sound come out with the TV screen off from a HDMI connecting DVD player?

I purchased a Mi TV 60", sometime in mid March, used 65daigou to help purchase and ship the TV from China over to Singapore and it arrived about 2 weeks ago, along with the sound bar and subwoofer.

After having to painstakingly remove the wooden frames that 65daigou had installed for me to protect the TV during shipment, I was excited to start plugging the cables in. I'm pretty familiar with the process as I have read many Chinese blogs and reviews on how others have unboxed all the way to setting up the TV and installing other apps on it.

Unfortunately, things were not going to go smooth for me this time round. After plugging everything in, I was getting a "black screen of death". While the sound bar had power lights, responded to the action buttons that I pressed on, and amidst my random clicking, managed to start some music and it was blasting the music out from the sound bar. The only issue is that the TV screen continued to show me nothing but a black screen.

I then tried many combinations of swapping the power cable to another electric source, tighten and ensured the power cable and Mi Port cables are plugged correctly, etc but to no avail. Contacted Xiaomi Support in China directly, sent them photos, explained the steps and symptoms I have taken and seen and they suspected it may be a TV screen defective issue and requested for me to ship it back for their checks.

Saddened with the problem that I'm facing and to make things worse, I have thrown away the boxes that came with the TV. It is going to be a problem packing it, not to say shipping it back which based on my logistics friend, is likely to cost S$700-800 minimally via sea freight one way. Then comes other potential issues such as possible damage during shipment, my inability to be present at the Xiaomi after sales support office for them to check/repair/replace, which was what Xiaomi support agents told me that I have to be present.

I then left the power running. After a few hours, I was shocked to suddenly see a blue screen showing up on the TV screen. Of course, I was extremely happy and immediately followed instructions on screen to pair my remote control and finished the setup of the TV. It all worked fine until I turned it off to test if I can turn it back on again. The happiness was short-lived and I was since unable to turn it back on.

I have tried looking for local Xiaomi TV sellers and other TV shops to see if anyone was willing to take a look and perform any repairs if possible. Unfortunately, many suspected it could be due to the screen or the Mi Port cable issue. Trying to narrow the issue, I managed to find a seller in China (from my China colleagues) and will be getting the Mi Port delivered to me by this week. Hopefully it is a Mi Port cable issue, else, short of another tested-and-working sound bar or TV screen, I have not been able to pinpoint the exact issue.

Would anyone be able to extend a desperately needed helping hand to me? Your help would be most appreciated.

65daigou shipforme or buyforme? could have requested for powering up & screen check service i think.

Sorry to hear about your situation.

AFAIK, there will not be anybody that could do repair here locally. But the good news is that you could watch it properly for awhile, which should mean that the TV screen should be ok.

So chances is that the problem should be either the Mi Port cable or the Soundbar problem. Which should be cheaper to rectify.
