Same thoughts. the styrofoam cushion within the packaging is already quite thick. Unless really rough knocks/drops, which i think the crates also wouldnt help much lol

Yes. The box does cushion the TV from impacts. But the wooden crate prevents anything from piercing through the box.

IIRC, the freight forwarding company will tell you that they need to crate it up for you. Cost is about $50.

Just went to check out the Xiaomi Concept store.

After taking a quick look, pricing of the items sold there will cost about 20% higher than those export set.

Eg. Mi Band 2, Qoo10 selling about $40. They are selling at $49.90.

Hi all,

I bought this MiTV v3 55 inch about a month ago. Recently keep encountering this black screen issue halfway through while watching and the frequency is getting higher.

Anyone has a solution for this?

Also how do we update the firmware manually? Currently my version that is shipped with the tv is MIUI TV 1.2.6. When i click on the update, it says my version is already the latest. However when i do a google search, it seems that there is even more updated version.

Please help if you can. Thanks!

Suggest you get a LG Tv which is good.
I have mentioned many times here that can forget about it. The QC is super poor and no local agent so no warranty here. If MiTv can replace main stream Tv brand like LG, Samsung and Sony, then LG, Samsung and Sony will have been gone long ago. Earlier i have read many many cases of it spoilt within 3 to 6 mths. You are not alone. Forget about it.

I myself has a 49" mitv for about 1.5 yrs already. one thing I noticed about my miTV is that it has heat issue after playing for a while. I place this mitv in my bedroom..I then place a fan blowing directly into the back of the mitv, now I can play the tv for many hours. I also disable my auto update function and my mitv version is still at 1.1.63 stable.. cheers

Nice. How much and how did you buy the Mi TV 3?

Ok. Try this first :

1. Unplug all cables then plug them back in again
2. Try viewing video from YouTube, do you get that problem

Need to isolate the problem. Sometimes, it could be just due to the HDMI cable that you use, that's why I say watch from YouTube (should be from the Soundbar via the Mi-cable to TV only).

Let me remind others of my experience with LG (which you already know).

You already know because you are in that thread trying to convince me to buy LG again. Seriously, I am not Xiaomi salesman but are you LG salesman or distributor or whatever that could be hurt if LG sales is not good?
