Can auto switch the source on bootup? Not sure if my parent know how to change source from home screen.

For old people, you must put clear instruction.

Eg. To watch TV, then stick a sticker with "Press here 2 times" then press "OK".

Something like that and they should be ok. You cannot just tell them, must either write it down or put on picture. But after awhile, once they familiarise liao, can remove all the pictures liao.

The seller i got from is shipping the 2s tv. U can purchase from them. Same link i shared previously.

Preference bah. I prefer passive.

I'm refering to the soundbar n woofer. The "plop" is kind of loud after mains turn off.

Router is orange gigabit yes but my switch is the reverse. Haha hmmm let me try my AC68U later if speeds are better

I don't know the difference. LOL!!

My PC 2.1 speaker also has the "plop" sound when I turn it on or off. I thought that is normal.

By the way, do you have a picture of your wall mount and a picture of the back of the Mi TV2? Did you buy the wall mount option for this TV?

Passive is usually polarisation. Active is the shutter of glasses on and off at very fast rate to match the refresh rate of tv. Thus the glasses need to be charged.

The plop sound is not normal. Im not really an electrical person but is has something to do with the resistor/capacitors?

I will post the pic later of my wall mount. I didnt buy the wall mount. I'm using the one existing for my previous tv. Luckily it fitted. Just needs 2 spacers

Why would you want a photo of the setup? Do you mean the image quality with a DVB-T2 tuner?

You don't have to root just use an app that can access the Android settings to change the locale to English (US) such as Google Keyboard etc.

can i ask if want to install youtude, or access the china website. do i need to root?

Oic. My 2.1 PC speakers also like that. So I thought that it is normal.

But I don't really want 3D that much anyway.

...
It is normal for low cost design (amplifier) ...Good ones will have smooth take off and soft landing (gradual increase and decrease of supply voltage to the amplifier). In fact after a few years you will hear crackling sound from the speakers when you adjust the volume. Again for good (expensive) amplifier, this will not happen. Cheap thing no good, good thing no cheap...You pay for quality.

Oic. If got crackling sound from my speakers, then can change new one liao. LOL!!

I guess the Mi soundbar & subwoofer is cheap and lousy. So do you think or feel that Mi TV 2 is good an cheap?

I will avoid curve. But thats just me.

So far im happy with the TV. Yeah i don't really care about 3D. If have just bonus lo.

I downloaded some 4K demo videos from youtube. Those demo clips from samsung, LG and Sony. There is a samsung one which is the Transformers scene. Very smooth n no motion lag. Awesome details from greens, mountains to facial. Tried some 1080p kpop mtv. Very clear n sharp as well. For the Transformers clip, i turn the volume of soundbar to the 9pm direction. No crackling sound from the sound bar. It handles explosion n stuffs v well. Bass is deep and can feel the ground "tremble". Voice(speech) was alittle soft but acceptable. I have the sound profile set at Cinema mode as default. TV speakers has too much highs and hides the bass alot. Voice was clearer with the same clip on TV speakers though.

I tried my AC68U on the tv but getting less than 1000KB/s everytime. Don't know if its becos my AC68 is on my study room. My N56U in living room can get over 3500-4000+KB/s on the MiTV speed test. 1 thing i notice is 5G wireless is not supported as its not detecting both my routers 5G network.

You may wanna try getting blu-rays in mkv files as demo next time. Files from youtube are compressed and aren't in original highest possible quality and is not advisable for comparison.

1 thing I noticed. MiTV uses a cheaper soft type panel. The ripple when u knock on it is very big n the trails of line when u draw on it is very long as well. Hard panel does not exhibit such behavior... But then again its a cheaper alternative.

So far I'm still liking mine...

Wow ... sounds good. I was kind of blown away by the PQ of the Samsung curved 55" UHD TV last night. So the soundbar & subwoofer produce decent sound I guess.

Yes. For 2.4Ghz Wifi, Asus RT-N66U is one of the best liao, after RT-N56U. The later model after RT-N66U, from the review I read, ALL has lousier performance on 2.4Ghz as compared to RT-N56U. That is also why I am still using the RT-N56U now.

If you want more AC muscles, then it's ok. I prefers range over speed. Reason is because we don't need fast speed ALL the time. But we will want constant connectivity.

Sorry, they say Mi TV 2 supports "AC" standards. Does "AC" = 5Ghz?

As I said before, you pay for quality. Good if you find it's cheaper than tvs that cost more and fits your requirements. In general, my requirements may not be the same as yours. In any case I have no interest in this tv. Unable to comment.

Xenocide, IIRC .... the Mi TV 2 55" is using Samsung panels. AFAIK, ALL Samsung panels are soft type. LG uses hard panels.

See :
http://www.mi.com/mitv55/techspeces/

That is also why I bought the SkyWorth 42" LED TV @ $430 earlier this year. Because the guy selling the TV tell me hard panel very good lah, etc. But bought it because it's value for $$ also.
