...

mac address cannot be corrected once written (base on few cases i read on miforum). need to change the main board.

...
I don't see the logic. If it can be changed once by Xiaomi, surely they can change it again. Forum post info is sometimes questionable. If I post rubbish here somebody may believe me also :s22:

Anyway I am observing as a spectator only. Let wait and see.

Currently, the firmware on my Mi TV 2 55" is 1.1.70. This should be the stable version.

bro, i got ther same firmware as you but cannot find the portion where i can install external apk.

Can i check if your set have the 360 root program or any idea where to install additional apps?

by the way, are you able to access those xiaomi content in the menu?

When you say external apk, I just download the apk, copy to thumbdrive and then plug into the TV and run from there. That's it. I install the root program liao, then I removed it. Because I don't know what I did, but the YouTube app is screwed and doesn't work anymore.

What Xiaomi content? I don't think I saw any on my Mi TV 2.

I managed to load Google Play Store but it doesn't work. Keep saying "Check connection and try again."

Anybody successful in installing Google Play store on Mi TV2?

I don't know whether they root it for me. But I have a working YouTube.

Thanks for your info, I downloaded this YouTube TV :

https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...roid-tv/youtube-1-0-5-5-android-apk-download/

Uninstall the YouTube then reinstall it and it is running fine now. But the quality is still the lowest.

Anyway to set the YouTube TV to play with the highest resolution possible?

I have been fiddling ard with my TV... But still can't get it rooted(although there are videos of it being done on 1.1.70)

I tried google installer to get playstore n framework but out of luck as well.

Without root, I cann access system folder to replace the youtube apk from my phone. (Dont know if it works but can try and see if can play beyond 360p)

Was thinking to downgrade to 1.1.60 (which is available in the tv as a "backup", but I'm afraid losing all the seller installed apps n rights)

So right now, I'm just contented and enjoying what is available. Not unless I find ways to do it again...

I follow this :

I think I am successfully rooted. I managed to load Google Play, the icon is there but it doesn't work. Try to uninstall it but cannot.
