Got a pm asking for a review of the MiTV2 (sorry bro didn't see your pm till now). Anyways it's been about 10months of usage now. I use my tv everyday as an extended monitor for my PC and it's still working awesome. I use it mainly to watch shows and occasionally for PS3. Never had any major issues. I don't know if language setting will be a problem because I managed to set my language to English during one of the updates when they had english in the menu but after the subsequent updates I can't seem to find English anywhere in the settings. Also, I can't seem to access apps on the TV (a blank page jsut shows up) but it doesn't really matter to me since I use it with my PC. I've tried watching 3D shows with it and I'll say it's pretty decent depending on the show. 3D tech in general still has a long way to go imo. Overall, paying <1.1k for this TV is totally worth it. BTW, now shopback offers cashback for taobao too so ordering your mitv through taobao might be even cheaper. Do PM me if anyone wants a referral link where we both get $5 :)

The 3D is really pretty good, mine is the active shuttering model and when trying out 3D movies, i wished the screen is 70"+ :s13:

btw what's your settings for the TV as extended monitor? wondering if its due to my old Asus HD7850, the display is off color & fonts blurred when i set it to 2560x1440p & abovehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphics_display_resolution#QHD_.282560x1440.29

color off and fonts blurred bcoz your chroma subsampling not in 4:4:4: full rgb mode

This is a good concept for TV.

They use a "Mi-Port" to link up the Android TV portion and all the ports to the Mi-TV 3. So from Mi-TV 3 onwards, the TV will just be a display device.

My card is an even older hd6950. I set it as 1080p. Can't rmb exactly why I decided on that. I think probably because my card have problems handling 4k reso with my 2 other monitors. Anyways almost all my content are 1080p at most so that would suffice.

Yes. Unless the TV got one HDMI port, then ok. If not, it is just a display, like monitor.

Just got this yesterday after a month of wait :s22:
Bought at $8 at lazada after $15 coupon discount. Last check i believed avail at aliexpress at aroun $14USD

Plug & play

This is my review : (copied from bro i1magic's previous review)

- Smaller size than i thought, one hand control easily
- Build quality is not bad
- Connection is good
- Buttons is well spaced out
- Buttons feel rubbery, so quite nice to press
- Power button WORKS! but only for switching STANDBY <-> ON & ON -> OFF. Once OFF, unable to power on due to USB output have no power :s13:
- First timer using gyro airmouse, and quite surprise its relatively easy to control. Personally felt its more convenient & accurate than pad (i suck with pad control :o ). Doesnt really requires huge hand movement, u can move the mouse across the whole screen merely by tilting your wrist. Speed of cursor can be adjusted in TV settings. Scrolling done by hold OK + motion.
- Shift + Space to switch language input
- Mouse/Remote & keyboard auto switch when flipped over

Few issues I found
- Keyboard layout slightly different, alpha "OPL" at bottom
- No home button, the button with the Home/Return label is just Return (thou not much concerns, just lacking the capability to clear app memory)
- Inbuilt rechargeable Li-ion battery, yet to test how long it'll last on full charge (microusb charging cable provided)

Overall, am satisfied & find it really useful especially for some apps that require mouse as it can be done with one hand :D
