no leh I use the remote only. Pressing the menu button (the button on the right with 3 lines). Is your source your PC/laptop? Can use the video player to do it if you can't do it with the tv.

I press and hold the "Home" button.

The source is from Kodi (Phoenix add-on) which is installed into MiTV directly.

Finally gotten the 3D to work when I use the 3D播播 app downloaded from shafa market. I am to watch the 3D shows in there. However, 3D still does not work in KODI. Strange.
At least can confirm that I did not get a lemon set.

He do not really need that. Wall plate will have many dependence eg the central amplifier of the building and etc. These amplifier many need modication or change to allow certain channel frequency.
There is no need to do all these modifications.

You may have forgotten this post of mine which you liked (I can remember this very well because this was something unusual).

There was a typo there in the sense that instead of ch 29 for T broadcast, it should be ch 38. I can't edit it now as the thread has been closed.

Hi guys

I was tempted to get the MiTV till I saw the Sony Android TV at local stores. Any idea in terms of performance, is there any difference?

Some sellers do offer inhouse warranty for $100+ if u r worried. Judging from users here & miui forum, i dont think there's much issue tilldate

Price of cos Sony more ex. I'm asking about performance, u ask me back about price. Like no link.

If performance is comparable. Then might consider Sony for the local warranty. 4k or not is not my primary concern. Good to have. Not much free 4k content out there also. My eyes not that pro to tell the diff w/o side by side comparison. FHD is good enough for now.

Anyone else got more constructive input?

I'm not too sure of sony tv, but I heard they make pretty good tv as well. However, Mitv uses flagship ips panel so if the sony tv comes with ips panel, mitv is likely to win or have same performance.

If sony tv comes with other types of panels, its down to personal preference already. Some prefer ips, some prefer oled, some prefer pva some prefer plasma.

The main pull factor of xiaomi tv is its value given the on par top-ranged specs provided by any other brands, i.e 3840x2160 resolution.

imo the rest of the "performance" are all about the same unless there's any specific requirement for yr usage eg. Type of Android chip, Rams, ports connectivity, HDMI 2.0 etc

Infact if one is satisfied with just 1920*1080, can always go for those cheap non-smart TV with built-in DVB-T2 & buy android box separately if necessary instead.

Hi guys

What about posting a link to the TV-Model? We can only guess the Hardware of that TV. The Hardware Details for the Xiaomi TVs are all listed on mi.com, even with comparisons of the different Models (2, 2s and 3).
And of course the price is important, even for a performance comparison. You want to compare apples with apples right?

What size you want? What "extras" you want? MiTv2 has a small version 42", that only supports FHD, but is cheaper.
MiTv2 49" is the only MiTV so far with 3D. The others (MiTv2S and 3) are just about better specs (RAM, Processor), design or in case of MiTv3, with a different aproach of combining the panel with the TV.

It's a tough decision, so you should do some research on your own. I doubt anyone here as a MiTv and a Sony Smart TV at home, bro.

There are few website that has some of the 4K video demo that you can see playing at the TVs at Courts, Gaincity, etc.

But can't find any full 4K movie. Anyway, think the size will be too big, so no point liao. Unless we have Petabyte harddisk.

Yes. Xiaomi founder already said that when people goes to department stores, just for one TV size, there are so many models, so confusing. Not to mentioned higher inventory cost and model canniballisation.

That's why for Xiaomi, they only have 1 model for 1 screen size and they put everything / all features into this model. Because they save alot of marketing dollars and reduced the cost in channel distribution, they are able to price their product competitively.

I personally find Xiaomi Mi TV 2's screen pretty impressive. The power consumption is pretty low too.

Now the most important question .... will it last >3yrs. Can only report back 3yrs from now. LOL!!
