Did the seller change the language to English for you or did you do all that yourself? I feel like doing a "hard reset" of my Mi TV 2 and revert back to 1.1.70.

But I just want to make sure that I can get YouTube TV and the "TV Plus 2.0" app running ok on it.

The Seller change English for me, but I change back to Chinese 😜. Factory reset will not back to previous fw, but recovery mode can reverse to previous fw. And change to English can done only with shafa market is enough, no need launcher.

Here are the instructions, before continuing, please note these are the method i used and it worked for me. Please try at your own risk, i'm not responsible for any damage or inconvenience caused.

Ok lets get things started.

Change language to English

*This does not require root.
To change lang to english, please sideload this apk. http://d-h.st/izOx
After installing, open the app and select english (united states), only choose US English as other eng might cause problems.

Rooting and disable ad/updates

Doesn't work on 1.1.9, at first i tried a lot of times, almost gave up.

Go to your update/about page, and there should be a button for you to downgrade or switch to the previous version. For me i managed to revert back to 1.1.88 via there.

*PS: i tried the steps below on version 1.1.88.
**works on any versions below 1.1.9
*** Tested on Mi TV 2

1. Revert back to 1.1.88
2. Factory Reset (*might not need to but i did anyway)
3. Prepare mouse (you will need a mouse to navigate the apps)
4. Sideload and Install baidu root apk. http://d-h.st/g4nC
5. Open baidu root app, and use the mouse to click top middle button/banner to root
6. Wait for it to run and let it root.
7. TV will reboot and you should be rooted.
8. Sideload and Install App Quarantine apk. http://d-h.st/bYYE
9. Run App Quarantine (make sure you stay at the screen and grant root access to it whenever it pop up and asks for it)
10. In App Quarantine, find "StandbyCover" and "System update" and Quarantine it. (grant root access if it ask)
11. Make sure you only freeze the two apps above. Freezing wrong app may cause problems.
12. Reboot and you are done. You should not be able to see ads now or access the update page.

Please share if it works for you.

Recovery can revert back to previous firmware meh? I think I tried before, IIRC cannot.

Do the slide right action on the sensor bar and then select the system1 or system2 that one right?

It has just been ship with ETA 6th Feb. I used 65daigou Buy4me. Please give them a call and check the procedures with their friendly Singapore office CSO.

Hi Uno_Hu,

I'm interested in the Xiaomi Tv 3 60 inch as well. Would you be able to share with us the total cost involved (i.e. TV price, shipping price, GST, crate etc)?

I see sellers on Qoo10 with ready stock in Singapore selling around S$1,900++

yes, you can use an easy way to enter recovery mode:
1. when your mitv is on, press and hold power button, then choose reset;
2. when your mitv reset, press and hold both "home" & "menu" button;
3. the recovery mode show up ;)

you have to wipe data first before you choose reboot, then choose the system not the current using one...

from what I know, mitv is using dual boot system, when you do OTA update it will update to the other system and boot up, so the previous one is backup for previous firmware version...

Wah .... you want to update to 1.1.92 (Stable), then if no good, revert back to 1.1.70 (Stable) right?

Can I confirm whether do you mean "Press and hold power button, then choose reset" or is it "Reboot"?
