But that's their operating model.
Limited production runs, but enough that they don't over supply or stock up anywhere. Just like their software builds, they will release updated products every few months to evolve them.

I hate it when they launched Redmi 1s to replace Redmi only after ~ 3 months. Price of Mi3 also dropped from $400+ to $300 in 3 months.

They created hype but then dropped their phone prices quite fast -> I am not happy with that.

Then again, its UPS..

Edit: Woah, parcel just arrived in Taiwan from HK and Scheduled Delivery changed to "Friday, 18/07/2014, By End of Day"....

Does factory resetting delete the contacts and stuffs or just the apps and personalise setting?

Go to settings > display > default launcher to set > remember to choose replace launcher once selected.

If cannot, try factory reset and install the launcher again.

By the way, other launchers are not as smooth as default one (MIUI). I can't customise them to my liking, at the end I stick with MIUI.

I still prefer iPhone and flagships from Samsung, HTC, LG
Xiaomi phones are cheap but performance and UI are Okay only.

Anyway who is waiting for their 1s really cry sia when see the performance
Surfing the net the keyboard will hide when tried to do search
I believe the ram was too low thats why it kills the keyboard
Was surprise cannot view some vids as flash player was not install, no plug in

I can compare this phone with my first android that is samsung galaxy spica

But to use as call or text no issue

Was surprise cannot assign individual tones for sms
I need it as certain tones will indicate i will be needed urgently without having to see the message
Realise when taking photo directly in whatsapp, the photo will not be capture. Must try a few times.

In my opinion as long the ram is 2 gb you are safe with the current os

What the below info means (Arrival Scan) is merely that custom documents have arrived but not the actual parcel - it may still be in transit. Custom documents are usually sent prior by certain shipping companies like UPS, Fedex, DHL etc.. so as to expedite on custom clearance when the parcel actually arrives.

The code we should be looking for is "Destination Scan" which means parcel passed through customs and should be en-route for delivery.

Btw, UPS customer hotline has got a dedicated option number for "Xiaomi Packages" only. I suppose Xiaomi is on high traffic list with ppl like us harassing them..

Ya. IMO 1s is really not worth it. Wasted the snapdragon 400 with the MIUI so bloated. I also encountered the attaching camera shots to Whatsapp problem. MIUI is just full of bugs.
