Thanks.

Looks like Note 3 @ S$199 be a better choice. FullHD screen, dual band Wireless, Snapdragon 430 vs 650, 13MP vs 16MP dual tone LED camera, brighter selfie cam f2.0 and fingerprint sensor
Not everyone likes a bigger phone

Redmi 3S now comes in Gold, with a memory combiantion of 2GB+16GB. It's priced at S$179, same as last year's Redmi 2 Enhanced(with 2GB+16GB too)~

yeh... they must have realise their mistake after my email..

I shall seek resolution from xiaomi...

Did Xiaomi provide any resolution?
Refund? Or possibly just need to wait for firmware upgrade?
Seek advice as I am also in the same situation as I bought 2 sets on the 2nd day after 3S launch in Singapore based on the specs that 2nd SIM will be 3G capable.

Pass by the Mi shop at Suntec City Mall....

Took a look at 3S....physically same dimensions as my Redmi 1S.

I check with the Mi guy and he told me is dual sim 4G + 2G......:(

what is the enhancement?
is 16GB sufficient? cos this model if use dual sim will sacrifice the memory card slot?

more to worry is whether 2gb ram is sufficient now a days.
very common to take up 1.5- 1.7gb even aft clearing the cache.

The enhancement of Redmi 3S compared to the Redmi 2 Enhanced includes:
- Snapdragon 430 vs. Snapdragon 410
- Fingerprint sensor on the 3S
- Improved cameras(both front and rear)
- Bigger screen(5" vs. 4.7")

16GB is rather sufficient, but if you are using two SIMs, then I feel getting the 32GB is better.
One thing to note is, Redmi 3S only support 4G+2G dual SIM, so after April 2017 technically you can only use one SIM.

The differences between the 3S (16GB) and 3S (32GB) is only the memory combination part, else all other parts are the same.

The difference between the 3S and 1S is that both slots of 3S can support up to 4G but only one can be on 4G/3G while the another will be restricted to 2G. As for 1S, it's hardware restricted that only the first slot support up to 3G while the second slot support 2G only.

Clearing cache does not free up memory right? Are you referring to storage space or RAM?

Seems like 3GB is the necessity now. Read a lot of articles that 2GB is the bare minimum for even basic usage to avoid thrashing. Thrashing will indirectly reduce battery life because apps needs to reload.

Redmi 3S now on promo in Qoo10. Prefers this over Redmi 4 because Redmi 4 has the same specs and is heavier.
