Well... As a Chinese saying;

"One cent of money! One cent of stock! "

Yes, absolutely very true! Another Cantonese saying "Good things no cheap, cheap things no good." But I draw the line at our labour force. Not everything also can "CBF". That's another topic. Now I still thinking whether to spend $188 to get a brand new RMN3 or just leave it. But seeing build quality like that, still have to spend more to buy those like reinforced Otterbox cover and paste like what 2 pieces of tampered glass s.p.?!

Haha! CBF indeed...

LG V20 might be a good choice amid the higher price.

Another brand to consider for the budget midrange, a relatively "new" boy in town is UMI. The UMI Super or UMI Plus...

It depend on how do one defined "cheap thing". Does selling "no good" thing at higher price consider as good thing ? So may be this is not a good measurement as price is always set by profit margin and brand image.

For hardware build. Xiaomi is above average. But the Miui OS is a big turn off, too many bugs and no proper test before release.

Thanks and appreciate advice. Try to look for the special deal. But also worry about its build quality. Low drop and screen can crack so easily.

I've seen many iPhones lower than waist height drop also screen smashed, landed either face down or top corner. Depends on where it hits. I just dropped my RMN3 taking out from pocket, chipped the glass screen protector but otherwise no issues.

Not sure abt new star but prob the same. SmartCell on Lazada comes with Global ROM and Playstore installed so take out of box and start using.

Good thing u had sp protect screen. My case was sitting on chair and phone slipped from pocket. So about normal chair height. Landed face down ****. Brought to handphone repair shop and was told Redmi phones no point spend money to fix.

My current battery life with 6.9.22. Is it supposed to be in deep sleep mode when the screen goes off? :(

No screen protector say so lah, don't blame the build quality of the RMN3. By your logic, the build quality of fruit phones that cost over $1,000 is also bad since their screens can be cracked when dropped from even lower than waist height.

Pro-tip: don't drop phones with screen face down.
Super-pro tip: don't drop phones. :s13:
Extra super-pro tip: If you're the careless type, get appropriate protection for your phone.

See the following RMN3 glass hardness test video.
