Thanks for the confirmation, gonna get this temp phone while waiting to send back my nexus 5x. Android 7.0.x killed it... :vijayadmin::vijayadmin::vijayadmin:

Btw, can i find the Global ROM in XDA?

It all depends on your current ROM, whether it is official ROM or modified. If it's official ROM, can just update thru updater which is super simple. If it's modified, highly likely you'll have to apply for bootloader unlock and flash via fastboot method because flashing via updater or Recovery won't work.

No need apply for bootloader unlock. Redmi Note 3 is unique just need to enter EDL mode can already.

the new fb app update solve the issue
sharing external to messenger and whatsapp all works fine now

Just one qn: is the box suppose to include earphones?

Ok long story short. I'm a moron at this flashing thing. Always used my phones stock.

7.9.2.0 is not an official Xiaomi ROM. It is a "hacked" ROM with whoever knows what weird software that the seller put in. In your case, EDL mode is the only way to flash it back to the official Global ROM, and it's the best thing to do.

No one wants to use a strange ROM with all sorts of weird bloatware.
