Is the screen protected by Gorilla glass? Safe to use without screen protector? I currently have a matte one on mine, but I am very tempted to remove it, cos with a matte screen protector, the image on screen is less clear

I also used matte screen protector at first, but now changed to glass protector for clarity. You can consider as well

You can try updating to Note 4G's MIUI 6 Developer ROM but it doesn't comes with Google Play Services pre-installed so you have to separately install it.

Sounds like too much of a hassle. I think I'll just wait for the official update to be pushed to my Note 4G. Thanks anyway!

Note 4G's MIUI 6 Stable ROM is already available, but w/o Google Play store. You can download miui 6 stable ROM here - MIUI ROM for Redmi Note - MIUI Downloads - Xiaomi MIUI Official Forum

After update, you can easily restore back google play service, following the instructions here - http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/90999582-post273.html

Depends on your preference. I don't like flip case, so tried the silicone case from xiaomi first.

can owners of redmi note 4G give a few comments on the 5MP front camera? i've been searching for the front camera review of this phone but almost no respectable tech sites mentioned a single word of the front camera when they did their reviews. as if the front camera is non-existence!!!

background: i'm think of getting a cheap phone with decent front camera (at least 5mp) for overseas trip. basically, it's for selfie. i've a Sony PnS camera but it's hard for taking selfie, good for scenery though.

You mean using Mac to flash the ROM? For me, I just put the ROM on a SD card and flash using PhilipZ Recovery.

Ok, so I can just transer the ROM to an microsd card and use the Xiaomi Updater app to flash, right?

Also, will I be able to automatically be notified of updates on my phone, or do I have to always manually look for updates on the MIUI forums?

I updated to MIUI 6 already, but now cannot use Google Play services. I think I downloaded the wrong ROM. Jialat.

Ok.. let me tell you what I did, so you guys can try to help me

So basically now Google Play services cannot work. But I have the App installed and all the Google apps on my phone, just can't use.

What I did was:

1. I download this ROM from MIUI ROM 4.11.7 Full Changelog. MIUI 6 for Redmi Note 4G Released for Public - MIUI General - Xiaomi MIUI Official Forum

2. I transferred the ROM to my phone and installed using the built in Updater App. Pls note that I didn't root my device. Previously was using MIUI 5 that came out of the box, I didn't do anything until tonight

Now, currently I'm on this firmware

Worse still when I go into MI app store to try to install Google Frameworks, it shows me this

Please help guys...
