As long as u didn't unlock your bootloader, your phone can only run the official firmware from Xiaomi

Does that mean all those phones with fake vendor roms have bootloader unlocked?

Most likely, Xiaomi fastboot/recovery requires signed firmware.

For China rom to global rom, that I can't comment.

There's fake Xiaomi phone too.

Anyone has issues with the screen not being able to turn on after locking? The phone is still responsive and if I swipe the screen, I can hear it being unlocked but the screen is blank. Then the only way to get the screen on again is to long-hold the power button until the phone restarts. But once the screen is locked again, same thing happens over.

Brought back to New Star since only 10 days from purchase but they said cannot one-to-one exchange, can only send back to China for servicing which will take 3-5 weeks :s22:

Sound like a software issue. Guess must be theme related or 3rd party lock screen? Do a full reset to see if problem is fixed

Have tried (1) factory reset; (2) firmware upgrade cos just nice got upgrade; (3) re-flash old version but still cannot. Not sure what the cause might be. Tried Googling and also couldn't get anything - not sure if this is just a rare thing or my keywords suck haha
