China's note 4 has a 4GB/64GB variant. That's not Tue 4x.
India already have a 4GB/64GB Sd625 note 4.

It should be a typo. No point re-releasing the China note 4 as note 4x.

The Redmi Note 4 (X20) has three different storage variants, which are:
3GB+32GB, 3GB+64GB and 4GB+64GB

If you still insist it's a typo, maybe you can go to the website link I provided above regularly to see if they made any changes.

The global Redmi Note 4 (SD625) has a 4GB+64GB version, as shown in the product spec page of Mi India:

It may or may not come to Singapore, have to see the decision of Mi Singapore..

They are really making very strange decisions, with this, how is it any different from the original 4G/64G Redmi Note 4? Slightly disappointed, was expecting the 653 in it but guess not.

Today at Qoo10. Price drop to $209 before any discount if you have one. So this is $50 diffrent between local set and parallel imported set.

Because people thought that Xiaomi would equipped the Note 4X with SD653, since it's considered as an upgrade from the Note 4.

When the 3GB RAM Note 4X is launched with the SD625, people thought the higher-speced 4GB RAM Note 4X will come equipped with the SD653 instead.

lol, i'm not a regular reader of mobile phones news or fanatic except when i'm looking for new phones but don't think i've ever seen a complicated product/brand like Xiaomi with so many variants in a product. I think Asus Zenfone has a few variants (ZE550KL, ZE552KL or whatever) but I can see there's differentiation in each series where it targets a specific market/users.

Seeing the 4X 4/64GB using X20 instead of SD 625 screws up the logistics, service support and many people like myself who are waiting for SD 625 4GB/64GB. 2 different performance in this product - performance or battery life within a product line. This is my first Xiaomi phone, no hope of a SD 625 4/64GB but still very impressed with 3/32GB until i get constrained by the ram/storage (dislikes external storage). There's also enough variants to do a family tree! lol

There's still a possibility of a 4GB+64GB Redmi Note 4 (SD625) to come, as our Redmi Note 4 is co-aligned with the India market and not the Mainland China market.

I flashed from chinese rom to global rom version MIUI Global 8.1 Stable 8.1.15.0 (MCFMIDI) but the model number read as redmi note 4 no longer redmi note 4x, can i changed to note 4x?

Wow, got 128GB X20 version.
Releasing 4X in X20 is really going to mess things up.

So for China,
3GB/32GB/64GB X20 is Note 4

4GB/64GB/128GB X20 is Note 4X
3GB/32GB SD625 is also Note 4X


India and hopefully SG
3GB/32GB/64GB SD625 is Note 4

Wow, got 128GB X20 version.
Releasing 4X in X20 is really going to mess things up.

So for China,
3GB/32GB/64GB X20 is Note 4

4GB/64GB/128GB X20 is Note 4X
3GB/32GB SD625 is also Note 4X


India and hopefully SG
3GB/32GB/64GB SD625 is Note 4

128GB refers to the maximum external storage size that the RN4X support, in Vfat format.

yup, I tried all the different combination of vol up, down and power. I even tried the fastboot reboot-edl

I read somewhere saying edl has been locked for newer versions, 8.1.10.0 and above

anyway, I installed gapps via mi app store, should be enough

the battery life is really good. my MIL sure likes her new phone, can compete with aunties and uncles in Pokemon go

can anyone here confirm that edl has been locked for newer versions of MIUI? got a brand new RMN3 on my hand with china ROM and i intend to flash the lastest global ROM on it...
