What is to be expected for redmi note 6?

Would said expected nothing much, as it will be more or less a slight increment or upgrade phone...Since redmi phone purpose is to serve as a means for budget user with mid end specs.

Finally managed to get 4k recording with stabilization, the main purpose of buying this phone...

If you want to get this, after you unlock phone, download this file https://drive.google.com/file/d/10vGz1Fb7l9YIIKz3Alcrano4vUxa6yua/view?usp=sharing

0) copy the magisk.zip into phone
1) reboot to fastboot (vol down + power)
2) after you unzip, press shift right click mouse, open command window here
3) copy and paste the following into command window
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot boot recovery.img
4) In twrp recovery, reboot into recovery again. Somehow after flashing if you dont manually try to boot to twrp recovery, the default xiaomi recovery is booted
5) flash magisk.zip
6) reboot phone, go play store search for es file explorer or any other root explorer
7) Go to /system/etc/device_features/whyred.xml
8) Find the line that says "support_camera_4k_quality"
9) Change the >false< to >true<

Now you can open miui camera app

Wah power sia  u still go and hack/mod the system to support over it's max support

took some time to flash the TWRP. the MI recovery 3.0 keep replacing the TWRP...

yeah so weird.

Anyway i will try flashing global rom. The problem with china rom is that stabilization doesnt work on 4k. But based on youtube videos, it does work for indian roms. So maybe global rom might solve this issue

On the Oreo global room, after removing unnecessary apps, unused "system app" with root app delete, setting apps to be closed on exit in battery saver, and greenifying non essential system app, the rom uses 2GB ram after reboot... About 700MB more than lineage. apps like security, cleaner, and don't know what apps still using ram

I tried gcam, much faster than on mi Max when processing hdr.

Video stabilization in gcam is crap. Has wobbly effect. Some users say their miui camera doesn't work after enabling camera2api but no problems for me.

unused ram is wasted ram. have u actually encountered issues with the phone due to lack of ram?
my rn4 3gb used to auto close my discord while playing pubgm. rn5 4gb keeps it open while having 1.1gb free ram.
