All this online retailers product listings are sometime pretty confusing.

It's like they purposely want us to buy the wrong product.

And thus make us keep asking them this, ask that.

$305 free delivery to my house. Yes it's 4+64gb
you pretty much paid 20$ for someone to install global rom for you. if thats worth it in your mind then sure.

pretty soon the resellers here will start selling chinese set with global rom at the standard chinese price since the rom has just been released a few days ago.

in which world is the samsung a8+'s terrible exynos chip better than the sd 636?

I think mine is the China one just that the rom flashed is a global rom. So I think it's pretty worth the price

Is yours from the Apr batch (manufacture date at behind box below right corner) or the latest May batch ?

If it makes potential buyers of RN5 feel better, I am one of the early adopters of the RN5 and I bought the Magic Blue 6GB China sealed box at $430 back in March, hee 😋

I just bought a set off carousel. its the global rom with China specs. So you dont have to worry about it being China or Indian set

Now price dropped liao.

Saw at Little India one of the shop there nao selling at $340 nia.

Talking abt **** set, any of chiu got buy this RN5 (or any other phones) at Little India there before (outskirts of Mustafa) ?

Sometimes at this kind of place (where most ppl will nvr thought of to go buy phones from) chiu can get some really good deals.

Iirc, there's one shop there selling the 6GB Tiong set @$340.

Just flash global rom into it if chiu want.

Same as well. Shall see local Mi offering.

As per currently, Mi SG already selling the R5 Plus 3/32 for $259 and 4/64 for $299 respectively.

So moi guess official price or RRP for this RN5 3/32 will be at least $359 and 4/64 for $399.

Do note however, altho there's a 1-yr local warranty it's a limited warranty afaik.

Think chiu guys know the meaning of limited warranty.

:s8::D

EDIT: Inb4 got limited warranty better than no warranty. :D

Moi suspected pricing for the local set.

Think now XM wants to export their phones to many ****ries as possible and increase their worldwide foothold. At the same time, to fight with the "big boys" for a share at the big pie.

That's why they decide to provide a factory-sealed separate units (aka Global Version) direct str8 from their factory.

Still remember, iirc, previously with the R4/R4 Prime (sold here in spore) there was no "Global Version" to it. Retailers or our ownself has to flash global rom into it.

My wife's RMN4 charging port got problem, cannot charge. So bo bian, have to buy a new phone for her.

Went down to JTBC, got only 3GB/32GB Gold left & 6GB/64GB. Wife says Gold colour ok, so on the spot bought on Qoo10 & collect on the spot.

Paid $239. Less $4 off for 2 x $100 Qoo voucher, is $235.

Once power up the phone and got PlayStore and some basic Google Apps installed already.

This one I got is sealed. But once power up, got Playstore and other Google Apps liao.

If this is a China export set, then who did the installation of Playstore etc?

When it just launched in Singapore officially, the official prices are just $20-$30 above than export sets. :o
So good meh? Usually the markup for local vs export is around $50

Yeah the local Redmi 5 pricing was unexpected haha, but then export set resellers lowered their prices after that to stay competitive.
