yes phone arrived with it's bundle. no surprises though.
i think will order from china and get friend to send over, the china mi website has tons of stuff.

No need to unpatch. You can just update like that. Tried it with the latest update without issue.

Nope didn't root my phone at all as I don't see the need to do so.

After few days on using Redmi Note, here my short review

Pros:

• MIUI ROM is just simply awesome with tones of themes. Can't wait on coming MIUI 6 which base on my favor Flat design.
• As usual Stunning real camera! This 13MP is real deal where give you outstanding quality.
• Front camera also suprisingly a great quality 5MP.
• Outstanding HD IPS LCD, I find the color reproduction is much better actually, I prefer this IPS LCD than HTC One M8 - SLCD3. If the screen is FHD then it will be far than perfection.
• High benchmark score in Antutu which no worried on it apps performance.
• 2GB Internal on such RM 509 is just unbelievable. 2GB is minimum for Android to prevent any launcher restart issue. My friend Redmi 1s often facing launcher restart issue all due to 1GB Internal RAM issue.
• Even though the speaker is only mono speaker, but I find it sound just nice, at least it still better than my previous Galaxy Note 3 and Xperia Z, Off course they is no way better than HTC One M8 Stereo speaker.

Cons:

• Still under 4.2.2, hopefully soon can get 4.4.x since MTK already release source code base on KitKat.
• Even though high score in Antutu, but they is no denied they is some smoothness issue, need some tweak to get good smooth performance. All in all I believe 4.4.x will make the overall smoothness much better in future.
• Why Mi need separate the Themes for Global user, the themes inside is far lessor than China ROM. Don't talk on cannot buy the paid themes, even the free themes also little and like no updates. I had no choice did some dirty job for getting all the themes I want.

My Final Setup for getting much smooth performance:

• Disable CPU power saving mode. (This mode auto on in every phone restart).
• Windows animation scale - 1x
• Transition animation scale - 0.5x
• Animator duration scale - 0.5x
• Root and install Mi-Tools (required WSM tools) and Disable scrolling cache.

cannot use td-cdma one.

i think only China Unicom is the one compatible.

ya, even the 4g version won't work with us until they released the other version de.

I already switch to China ROM and no regret.

They is huge different in performance smoothness!

Mi is better optimize in China WCDMA ROM than Global edition.

I am keeping it! Some more all themes is available and I just notice themes download at separate MiHome launcher is halfway themes. So for full themes, need use bundle stock launcher.

Although Xiaomi is a MIC phone, I would much prefer the note to stay in english mode.
