Yes I was using ip5, but I checked online and it is not common...

I was using LTE previously as well and don't see it on other 3G phones (US Moto X, Moto G, Nexus 4). At least not so frequently.

Think its due to auto power saving mode"ON"

It automatic preserve power by shutting down network during non active period. Hence, its only when any key is press, the phone become active again and scan for new messages.............

"Power saving setting........."

should be under "battery" setting........

Thanks! I tried it but it don't work.
I don't believe is the battery saving mode is on as my whatsapp and other apps work fine even when I don't touch them. So far, I only faced issues on Facebook and Instagram.

There are phone running the MTK6592 already running kitkat 4.4. And according to reports Mediatek already released the source code to manufacturers a few months back, so can assume that Xiaomi already has the code. But i'm not holding my breath.

The Mi3 runs the more conventional Snapdragon 800, and that only got kitkat not that long ago, and that went through public beta for a while. So far nothing yet for the redmi note and redmi. The redmi 1s still on 4.3 right? and that's on the snapdragon 400. Most other phone i know using this processor got 4.4 months ago. Moto G got the 4.4 update more than 8 months ago.

Anyway, my point is... If you're getting the redmi note, don't worry too much about updates. I bought the Redmi Note with zero expectations that it will be updated to 4.4, and that hasn't change. I still enjoyed the device nonetheless, and since it's running MIUI, it probably wouldn't matter much too.

I tested the dual sim function on my redmi note and find it buggy. When I ended a conversatiom on sim 1 and someone called me at sim 2 a few seconds after, 90% of the time it won't get through.
It seemed that after using either one sim used for conversation, it takes a while to return to dual standby.
Anybody has this issue?
