It's more convenient and cheaper than buying a NAS to do the job though.

Different lah. NAS got RAID system. This Mi Router doesn't. That is a BIG difference liao.

I have tested the copying speed from my PC to the Mi Router 2, quite fast. Think about 80MB/s.

Not bad already. Like USB 3 speeds. So I can just use their software and stream media without fiddling with any complicated settings right?

Sorry, forgot to mention .... 80MB/s is over Gigabit using LAN cable.

You'll need to select the folder to "Share" out from your phone.

Don't give up.
Try not to set static ip, use automatic.
Do not use Wan port but any of the two Lan.
If OK, confirm back.

finally isolate the issue.. was using an old HTC adapter rated at 1amp, but putting out only 300mah... no wonder cannot connect.

Question for guys.
1) my Mi Router(1TB) needs to be registered to same account for the ANT camera to record?
Currently i tried record to HDD, it says no router registered.

Can we use the Xiao Mi Wifi Router 1TB to download the movie/drama in Singapore? If so, can the Xiao Mi mini do the same?

Xiaomi controls using Mi Account. I believe you can use different Mi Account for Mi Router and Yi IP Camera.

This is the stupid part.

Even for those of us who got the Mi Router, we need to still put a microSD card in the Yi IP Camera in order for it to record video to the harddisk on the Mi Router.

You can only see the option to save video to Mi Router when you have microSD card inserted into the Yi IP Camera. I tested and confirm this liao.

Need some advise here. I've managed to config my Xiaomi router (1tb) as an access point. However, by doing so, I couldn't get my "MiWifi Router" mobile app to connect to my router.

Is there anyway I could use it as an access point and still access it using the mobile app? If not, I wouldn't be able to use the other plugin features of the router.

I'm on Singtel Fiber 200Mbps. I've turned off the Xiaomi router's DHCP, connect it to the Singtel router via LAN to LAN connection.

I turned off dhcp only. Don't think I changed other settings.
Anyway, now I configured the Xiaomi router to be in repeater mode and it seems like it can achieve what I wanted. Just not sure if the performance is good or not.

Seems like Xiaomi router is hardcoded to the specific IP address (192.168.31.1). This means must use Xiaomi router DHCP else cannot connect "MiWifi".
