Yup. But luckily I drove out of Tokyo instead of taking public transport. so no issue. But the topping up of the Suica card is a pain as only at Narita can use card. In Tokyo, had to use cash to top up.If you are using physical IC cards, you’ll need cash to top up as well.
There are still a handful of public transport means that do not accept IC cards, especially in outskirt towns, so that would also be cash.
