arcade is usaully better than mustafa. just that mustafa's rates are online :p can be checked easily without going down and are pretty close to the median/average exchange rates.

Nice, I also changed at 15.90 at the Arcade today :)

Are you changing that sum just for food + transport + admission fees only? And paying for accommodation by credit card where possible?

Just want a rough idea what other people are doing - I'm leaning towards changing enough to pay cash for all the accommodation as well to avoid the credit card's exchange rate (usually higher).

for Japan very weird huh, the better their economy is, the weaker YEN is. but when their economy is bad, the YEN is strong

:) that makes two of us.

nah, im using dollar cost averaging to try to maximise the returns on forex. im like changing 40k yen every time i hit a treshhold i think its worth buying at.

im expecting 1Q profit taking to slaughter SGD-yen exchange rate. so im hedging by changing 40k yen first :) hopefully im wrong on it and yen will go down to 15 and below and stabilize there.

40k in 5 batches, maybe a little more, maybe a little less.

Hehe I'm doing the same thing (dollar cost averaging). I have about 1.5k SGD more to change. Fingers crossed.

There're some good articles on the right here: http://www.google.com/finance?q=JPYSGD that point towards the yen probably dropping further (a good read if you wanna understand why the yen rose and is now probably going to fall).

Just checked. Mustafa is selling at 15.9300. :D

nice :) going down down down

@redemption

haha , tried to figure it out by couldnt. only understood this bit . interesting coorelation with the S&P 500

Outlook for the Yen remains extremely unclear, and the coming week could potentially bring major shifts to our own USD/JPY forecasts.

Because Japanese Yen is deemed as a safe haven currency, along with USD and CHF. But now due to the recent Q4 GDP sharp decline of 12.7%, and the political uncertainties in Japan, Investors are slowly moving away from Japanese Bonds/Currency.
