wat i meant was, when u are checking the rate online or looking at an electronic board, and u are unsure whether to use the buy or sell value, the correct one is always the number that is more unfavorable to u.
for example, u wanna change sgd to yen, and the board shows 15.6 and 15.9. 15.9 is the more unfavorable one... which is the sell value. similarly, when u wanna change back from yen to sgd, 15.6 is more unfavorable to u.. thus it is the buy value!

I thot u flying off le? arcade is at raffles place mrt. a lot of money changers so normally quite good rates. Or you can try crante moneychanger near the chinatown mrt exit, just outside the green building. They normally give good rates too.
