Unfortunately, the new tax free shopping rules in Japan take effect 1 Nov 26.... I'm going to do all my shopping before that, including buying new Asics running shoes like Megablast and Superblast 3
Still can claim tax refund. Just abit more troublesome.

It's enough if I fly economy class and stay at 3-star hotels..... and avoid Europe
Japan 1-week trip: $3k
Korea 1-week trip: $3k
Taiwan 1-week trip: $2k
Thailand 1-week trip: $1k
Thats very true. my original travel budget includes 1 Europe trip biz class per year but since the Ukraine invasion, I have not taken a Europe holiday so every year I underspend my budget. Now Iran happen so it seems I will doing APAC holidays for a long time 😅

Japan smaller 3 star hotels are great for solo travellers, you just have to do the research. My priority is peace and quiet and no noisy tour groups.

Buying stock is accumulating more wealth.. It is ok if you have kids to pass on but I don't. My dividend and interest are enough for me to stay 5 stars hotel or take cruise almost whole year round ..I have been traveling quite extensively but my wife could not take this kind of lifestyle . In Spore buying a car is probably one of the easiest way to waste money ,,maybe will just change car every few year :ROFLMAO:
How about donations to charity?

good idea.
2024 and 2025, I think donations was the largest expenditure category for me.
2023 I bought my car, and paid 50% upfront + monthly instalment payments so transport edged out donations that year.

If you are still green for this year, you are doing well.

Even smartest quant got kicked in the butt.

Just because you are skillful with math and sophisticated strategies, doesn't necessarily mean you can be profitable enough to survive all market regimes.
