1) True that you can't port out otherwise you lose out on the benefits. However, at below $8/mth, i foresee that the plan's pricing will still be competitive in a year's time considering most of the cheapest 4G plans today still hovers around the $7+ mark per mth. Unless you factor in senior plans which doesn't apply to some.

2) Don't have to downgrade, just use the plan for 1 year and then keep a lookout for other cheaper deals and then port out. By fall 2026 most of the 5G SA plans should be quite prominent and cheap already.

3) Yeah this is somewhat situational for someone if they do travel a lot outside of APAC.

4) Also situational as well if a person make calls often but that can also be mitigated in app calls thru whatsapp, telegram etc.
The heck is fall 2026 in SG context lol

yes, this is the cheapest plan with the least t&c tied to it. i'm jumping to this when my cycle is up with maxx. haha.
I moved main line to zero1, but going to port out to Maxx or eight as I need VoWifi for that line.
Backup line I am moving to $15 plan on Zero1 or Vivifi, haven't decide yet.

when one is out and about and has no wifi, one can only depend on cellular to make calls. how does wifi help?

I received a lot of junk sms in jb using Maxx. No cellular roaming does not mean cannot receive sms.
Connectivity is not just one or the other, it is complementing each other.
Wifi calling with backup calling helps cover that, when one line has no coverage, it can use another line that has as data. Yes, wifi calling works over mobile data from another line, at least I have see it working overseas for Simba.

Does vivifi have vowifi? Or all ST mvnos doesn't offer vowifi yet? The deal seems to be very similar to zero1's offers.

None of the ST mvno has it. Not even Gomo.
My take is SingTel does not want to offer it for Mvno
I see thanks! Guess I will decide my option by this mth end. Will most probably port to zero1 or vivifi. (most likely zero1)

haha... so one needs another line and doing hotspot. might as well signup for simba or eight for the other line and use them to call. why go through all the trouble?

If you prefer not to rely on your CC for auto-deduction of plans, Maxx is a better choice as you can simply purchase plan with handphone shops instead of via online, your maid can buy plan every 30days (better till, need not be back-to-back top up as Base Plan can act as buffer period as she is still be contactable with free incoming call) by herself too.

I am referring to options that are made available and no I made no reference to hotspot.

For example, Simba on wifi calling can connect over WiFi/LTE/2nd sim (which can be another roaming sim or local sim) based on whichever is available.
Without wifi calling you are limited to Simba own cellular network (while in sg) or roaming partners (while roaming)

I have seen this make a difference multiple times to value it.
Perhaps it doesn’t matter to you, but that doesn’t make it useless.

If you do not have cellular roaming, how did you pick up those sms? They need a means to reach your phone right?

Are those sms related to anything in that area? If so it might be a location based broadcast of sorts.

I'm thinking of porting from gomo to zero1. 10/mth, get 6 months free after staying 6 months.
How's the connection and experience with zero?

I just tried porting in. My contact with gomo ends on 14 Oct, but I can't specify this date, and have to indicate the subsequent month of 14 nov instead, what gives?

Maybe we have a different understanding of the term, but that is cellular roaming to me.
Haha... what is quote is from z1 website. I believe even zym also can receive sms. Seems like ur definition is applicable to u only. The rest of us will still receive sms.

Yes I can receive SMS on zym/zero1/maxx/simba/eight using cellular roaming.
So does everyone else.
Wifi calling is another way but it is clear that we are not including that.

You are saying that you can receive sms without cellular roaming, which is why I am curious how are you able to do so.

Do read up the TnCs first…

Free months are not applicable for Singtel, Singtel-brands (GOMO and Heya) and MVNOs using Singtel’s network (Zym, Vivifi and CMLink) port-in.
