Just curious about porting. I signed up the SIMBA MY130 plan at $30/90 days. My 90th day is upcoming on 27th April. Thinking of changing to Zero1 $7 plan since my usage is super light. I put contract expired(SIM only is no contract to begin with right?) and order now(25th April) can right? Don't want to kenna the unsuccessful porting and SIM card fee, first time porting number. :o

You can sign up earlier (typically 1 week before) to be safe and you can control the exact date which your porting will occur if you opted to self collect at SingPost. For more details refer to my post in the other thread.

If you used credit card option to pay, your $39 would have been deducted last week...

Oh so you didn't pay using credit card option or blocked the card..
I think I paid using some other mode, not card. Didn't want them happily deducting to renew.
Now waiting for my Zero1 to activate. Actually I would have continued with SIMBA MY130 at $39/90 days but they don't allow plan downgrade was a big turn off.

Exactly. I am multiple lines with TPG. I wanted to downgrade one of the lines and they refused.

I have to cancel and change to other provider

Hi all, want to check.. i just signed up for Zero1 and my current end date of my existing provider is 12 May. What would be a good day to collect the sim from Singpost for a safe rollover (without break in provision)?

If you have contract with your existing telco (for example 1 or 2 years contract) then you should port out only after the contract is over, so as to not get charged for early termination fees. If you’re porting from main telcos like Singtel/StarHub/M1 they will do a pro rated refund. So you can plan your porting 1 day after your contract expires.

If your existing telco has no contract, you should port out before the next bill cycle otherwise the telco will typically charge you payment for the next (full) month and most of the time there’s no pro rated refund from MVNO telcos. So you should port out 1 to 3 days before the next bill cycle. Note that some telcos may require you to do it more than 3 days before, so read their terms and conditions carefully.

The day you collect your SIM card from SingPost is the day the porting will occur (at around 11 pm) and will be completed by next morning (at around 7 am or earlier), if it’s a working day and if the porting is successful (no issues with the names and ownership of the line from old to new telco). If it’s a weekend it may only be processed on the next working day. However for my case I collected on a Saturday morning and the porting occurred on the same day at night.

Also if you are particular about your bill cycle with Zero1, for example you want your plan entitlements to reset on the 1st day of every month, you can only port in between 23rd to 1st, so that you will be on bill cycle 01.
