can't stand it when the Apple people keep smiling at you and use big words to tell you they can't help you etc... just be firm and speak to the manager if you need to. pull out the Apple site articles to show you're eligible.
They are trained to push customers away if they are not paying. Been there many times already to change battery and do display replacement.
Got one occasion I even spoke to the ang moh store manager but also no use he say don't pay cannot help and super firm.
Even lied to me and said that the staff that previously attended to me was not working on that day but luckily I spotted him with my own eyes and got him to come over. End up the lower rank employee help me speak to the manager to negotiate for 50% payment to fix the display issue.
In short, if you don't pay you won't get what you want. Even if you try to reason it out they will most of the time get you to pay. If you try to use warranty where there is a grey area as to whether the issue will be covered you have to craft a convincing argument. Having said that, it also depends on your luck as some of the staff are more easy going while there are some staff can feel they like have some apple cult and only want to maximise repair profits for apple.
