Just dismantle and clean up the dust/grime clogging the fan and it should be ok. No big issue here.

Hard to say. Only proper troubleshooting will tell what is actually wrong and whether it is worth fixing. TCON is a likely candidate though, so is the mainboard, scalar PCBs and flex cables.

So for proper troubleshooting, will probably cost $50 or more just for the labour of troubleshooting by uncle Ho?

Wah, if mainboard or scalar PCBs or flex cables got problem, buang already right? Because the parts will cost >$100?

Xiaomi Mi TV 4S 65 inch 4K HDR LED TV was going at $720 (inclusive of delivery) last week.

Anybody know what fault is it?

I suspect this is T-con issue.

When I play YouTube videos, I can hear the sound and can see the pictures. Just that there will be a lot of horizontal lines. If I were to move back further away, the picture quality appears more watchable.

Anyone ever had their samsung tv only the audio stops working? What's the repair cost like?
2 possibilities is either the speaker has blown, or the speaker controller ic has malfunctioned. Do you usually put the TV volume quite loud while watching?

Usually the powerboard. But cannot rule out related components too. Need to troubleshoot in detail. I've repaired TVs with the same symptoms and the culprits turned out different each time.

Power board gone case.
Search the model in TaoBao or Aliexpress see if there is part selling there.

Recently, when my TV is on, I heard a quite loud popping sound a few times. But the TV was still running fine.

At first, I didn't know where that popping sound came from.

Was left scratching my head.

Until this morning, when I was turning on the TV, I saw a bright spark and popping sound from the TV plug or socket. Not sure it came from which. Only then, I realised the popping sound I heard before came from this.

After this, the TV could no longer turn on. Even though before this, despite the popping sound, the TV would still run.

Tested the socket by plugging in another electrical component. A media box. It is running well with no problems.

Used the power cable from the TV that is unable to turn on, and used it on another TV. The TV running well too.

So am I right to say the problem is probably with the TV and not the socket or plug? But strange thing is, I saw the spark from the plug.

Looks like tv power supply is burnt. What brand and model?

Hi All, my parent's Samsung UA48J5500 tv got bright spots in one area. Any idea ?

My LG TV has this problems too. Based on searching internet, LG TV glues on caps on LED backlight. After some time, the caps come off, and to solve the prob, have to glue it back.
