Recommendation for portable Air Cooler ..

Anyway, its very noisy.

For the one which add water, might not help much.

It’s honestly better than nothing, those portable water cooler fans

they dont work if the humidity is too high, those warm nites ... only ac work

when the humidity isnt that bad, those mist fans have some effect, i agree

can try look see at NTUC Finest or Extra or Giant, they have a section for this before but not that many models lahh ..

The worst thing about portable alAC is it's consumption of electricity, it's almost double of a system 2 inverter

can think of 2 reasons - aircon dirty - how to know - visual inspection, wash the filter, and wash the aircon fins

second reason, maybe ur compressor motor not working or ur thermostat got issues.

Evaporative cooler aka marsh cooler isn't as effective as advertised in humid countries like sg. And the high humidity promotes mold growth. The evaporative panels might be paper so take care to check that. Because of its design/ tech, it's inherently loud

ac blow normal air??? something is wrong liao, call techinician

pipe can leak if very old, but its more oft used as an excuse by unscupulous ac technicians to squeeze more marnee out of unknowning and trusting home owners,

i did saw the ac man use a portable welder to weld some pipes in the old rental apartment i had years ago,
more often the compressor just gives way if the environment air is dusty/dirty (if u stay near a road), or the usage is too heavy

Usually portable AC is the opposite, compressor will give out water. Those that require U to pour water in to cool is a normal fan

From what TS mentioned, it seems there is an aircon but it’s only blowing normal air. Maybe the aircon just needs servicing? Could be an issue of poor maintenance, like never washing the filters or cleaning the unit. If that’s the case, TS might not need to bother getting a new aircon at all.

If TS really wants a new aircon, does that mean replacing every existing unit? or if only need one unit, replace that unit or get those old window units?

For portable aircons, remember you need a venting hose (trucking) to push the hot air outsince there’s no aircon that works without expelling hot air. Portable units are also noisy and take up room space.

As for air-coolers, that’s probably my last recommendation. Unless TS is staying in a small space like a utility room, where it might still do okay without aircon. But air-coolers come with their own issues like water leakage, noise, and space constraints.

Bro just put ice infront of fan will do.
