Someone was asking if the Jackie Aircon foam cleaner is toxic since it's used on the aircon and so would vapourise the contents.
That is a fair point. I finished cleaning 3 FCUs and "acid tested" it with my TVOC meter right at the aircon FCU's output. (forget about in-room testing bah... lol)
However, don't expect the cheap TVOC meter to detect every chemical out there.
PS. For me, I also rinse with water with the Panasonic oral irrigator.

Formaldehyde CH20 is a type of VOC. It should show up in the TVOC reading. About S$40

Mine is just a very simple meter with a simple sensor that probably can show if there are VOCs in the room and differentiate between a low and high (dangerous) level. ie open windows = 0.000.
3 drops of alcohol in the living+dining room w windows closed, fan to mix the air around.....within 10 seconds it tells you that there is a problem.

In fact no need 3 drops, 1 drop is enough to show the spike. It is sensitive, but not precision, which is unknown and presumably quite off the mark. I do not expect it to be precise in the first place, just reasonably usable for "home use" is OK liao. Coz in most homes there is no VOC issue.
Of coz, this is not to say that my meter captures everything. I also have laser particle counters and a CO2 meter, which is not really applicable in this case.
I just finished cleaning 3 of the FCUs with JAckie Aircon foam cleaner and TVOC meter right at the output of the aircon FCU @ low fan speed, it can detect 0.8-0.9xx mg/m3 of TVOC immediately after washing. After 5 mins, it could not detect anything, ie 0.000 mg/m3. This is right at the output of the aircon FCU.
Here is a test report in a China home (!!), with a usd 3k meter.
