For my first gen, i got it before they sent out the second one, and apparently it could not sense very very low particulate numbers, ie i put it at the output of my air purifiers and it's not single digits. All i could get min is 19.

This is HDU / High Dependency Unit @ Mount Elizabeth Hospital.

About 60cm by 60cm. Not sure about depth.

It's at the output of the air vent. Each and every small room got its own air vent and HEPA filter (which is relatively huge compared to our air purifiers).

Nope, i cancelled the order.

From now till about Oct still got chance for haze to flare further up. If then got chance of moderate to dense haze, i will get one of that RMB2880 then. It would take about 3 days to reach 4PX SZ and another 4-5 days to get delivered to my doorstep.

The Dylos laser particle counter (DC1700) is actually very sensitive, got lots of youtube vids on the sensitivity and it does go down to 0. 0.5 microns and 2.5 microns sampling. Also cheaper at comfortably less than 2k RMB. You cannot get directly from USA as they do not ship to SG.
Issue with this is that it measures the number of particles, and there is no way to convert between this and micrograms per metre cube accurately.
That is also why in the link that i posted, the tiong laser particle counter have 3 versions.

Currently, El Nino seems to have pushed back slightly, though the risk is still there.
Nothing is for certain.

As long as the Riau province in Sumatra (not Riau islands) is experiencing rains here and there, there is no chance for moderate-dense haze. But the risk remains as the peat fires still smoulders underground. The area of interest that Singapore ought to be looking at is Southern Riau province and the area overlapping into Jambi province.

Does anyone have any idea if the filters for Samsung AX40 has shelf life of how many months? especially if the filter is being kept in its packaging?

It's Polypropylene material and it's not electrostatic in nature like the 3M filters/N95 masks. If it's kept in a plastic bag so that mould spores cannot get to it and grow, then it should be literally forever. Mind the humidity and temperature also, the bag is just close to 100% airtight but not absolutely airtight.

I have a N95 mask, the 8511, that has some yellowish spots growing on the surface. Kept in the cupboard but not kept in the plastic bag.

I saw posting on replacement filters from Fellowes. I am just thinking, why not I just get the Fellowes air purifier, since one of the models they sell are even more advanced than the Sharp or Samsung models. No need modify the filter, just buy from Amazon and ship direct.

What you guys think? Surprisingly the DX95 is cheaper than the AP300 model in the UK Amazon.

The haze was back last 2 weeks but the wind dir meant that it affected Port Dickson and Penang, instead of Singapore.

Should be ok if you are ok with Amazon UK.

But why not check out Samsung AX40 on qoo? $280 or so shipped with FedEX. Tested to be 323m3/hr airflow. The Samsung AX022 is 188m3/hr. Actually qoo also got sell Winix WACU150 and WACU300 which is like the bro of Fellowes.

The latest info is that you can get from taobao for an even lower price + don't need usd125 to get Amazon freeship. HEPA "Quality" is ard H11 to H12. H12 is 99.5%. Take for eg the SmartAir filters seller on taobao, on a Dylos laser particle counter, they measured 99.2% efficiency. The others could be ard there also but likely to be a bit less.

Get a powerful air purifier with more than enough reserve horsepower and don't be too concerned regarding 99.97% H13 vs 99.2% H12 and 95% H11. That difference is really miniscue in the real world.

No lah, no haze. Need to have sy a good solid 10 days of sunny and dry period in Riau province before things can flare up.

If got El nino established before end Oct, very high chance got haze.

Else if dry period 14 days and then 1 rain period.... I think very little chance of haze, even though the peat fires would not be extinguished.

If budget is not an issue, A80 for the living room and 2 x A40 for the bedrooms. A80 can then lug into the bedroom during sleeping time.
