...Actually you could have purchased some other stuff as well and not get so many HEPAs. Like rechargeable batteries (Amazon basics), charger..... or Maxell AA Alkalines, to name a few.

Yah, but I have no other item (types) to purchase from Amazon for the time being. Those other items that I want, are mostly not eligible for FSSG.

Ok.... well I hope you wont be mad, coz apparently I found some ULPA U15 and H13 filters (several posts above). 50mm thickness.

50mm, can really hold quite a fair bit of particulate, that also means the velocity of the airflow past the filter drops by half (from the graphs, the relationship is straight line linear), the pressure shd drop by half and i'd expect airflow to be good even with a U15 ULPA. And cheap, about SGD15 per filter change incld 4PX shipping to SIN.

DIY cut + plug with foam and stick up sides to prevent bypass = quite a lot of work. I suppose about 45-60 mins of very light elbow grease per filter change. And another 60 mins to extract the filter element out from the big Au frame.

The good thing about the Fellowes HF-230 is that you just need 2 mins to cut the top and another 3 mins to scotch tape the sides (which has hard paper sides) and top. It's much much easier, comparatively speaking, compared to trying to fit and stick "naked" pleated HEPA/ULPA filter elements.


But one thing is for sure, you can change your HEPAs every 6 months without heart pain.

Just wanna share this.

This is HDU / High Dependency Unit @ Mount Elizabeth Hospital.

About 60cm by 60cm. Not sure about depth.

It's at the output of the air vent. Each and every small room got its own air vent and HEPA filter (which is relatively huge compared to our air purifiers).

Suspect that this is of 610mm x 610mm x 50mm size.

best to go for those can change easily or get alternative to diy..

and got a 402 mm x 217 x 20mm hepa filter to zhng my cornell box fan into a purifier.

Can custom make active carbon filter too.
