I remember ard the same price during Harvey Norman move out sale at Somerset though. Or maybe $299 then only.

But specs suck. 61dB highest setting @ 237m3/h, how the fiak to sleep?
Even the xiaomi could be slightly softer at the same setting.

Am tracking Super typhoon Dolphin now, 3rd category 5 super typhoon of 2015. 5th month into 2015. This is extremely rare. Even though 1997 Super El Nino year had a record breaking total of 10 Cat 5 super typhoons, the 3rd super typhoon appeared in July then. And we have our third Cat 5 in mid-May.

JTWC warning at 15:00 UTC intensity is up to 135kts and peak is up to 145kts. With the 135kt data,the ACE units for the West Pacific 2015 Typhoon season is now up to 96.1725 and that is #1 before May 31st.It just surpassed the 1976 94.7 units to reach the first position.

Edit - WPAC ACE reaches 100+ (100.93)

Good news for Samsung AX40 owners!

I asked the Taobao seller and it seems that he is able to specially customise a 310 x 282mm x 60mm depth HEPA filter. Around 97% efficiency.
RMB180 per pc.

But this means that you won't be able to use the prefilter, but you can use the outer cover, just that it would buldge out a little However it probably would be great use to instantly bump up your airflow m3/hr spec during a super hazy period and anyway the machine is backwards facing intake so it's not noticeable anyway....so that you can bring it to the living room to use etc.

60mm is a 33% upgrade vs 45mm.

Coz i mentioned before, there is a very slight airflow drop for this Taobao HEPA at 45mm depth vs new + original Samsung at 37mm for the HEPA portion.

Qoo10 pricing for Original Samsung HEPA is SGD88 shipped.

the spec is also not bad.

Hi,

The xiaomi has a 9kg shipping weight. So thats 235rmb forward to SIN.

It is v loud, probably the loudest of them all and louder than the Honeywell 50250. So this alone is not good.

Power consumption sucks. 75W for 406m3/hr.
Samsung AX60 is 722m3/hr for 48W.
Samsung AX40 is about 28W for 323m3/hr.
LG i measured is 39W for 318m3/hr.
The Samsungs are v quiet.

Moreover, with the above filter DIY upgrade, the airflow probably would be closer to 350m3/hr at least. RMB180.

Xiaomi original H11 filter is rmb149, aftermarket rmb99.

RMB180 and RMB95 respectively. 包邮 using 韵达。 I asked him to give me a lot of that 0.5mm ultra thin prefilter, the type that you can see on the original Sharp HEPA filters

371 * 228mm *45mm is for my Sharp KC-840. There is one part in which the plastic prefilter curves in, so that's why I am cutting the width dimension from 235mm stock to 228mm to allow for some allowance. 45mm should be juuuussst nice and tight fit.


Hopefully have a nice boost to the present equipment, then no need to spend to upgrade or get additional sets. Together with the 3M Filtrete, shd be enough for the whole house and keep things under 2ug/m3 after 30 mins (say external is 100 ug/m3).

3M Filtrete is sourced from Amazon during end 2013 (after PSI 401 haze)

Note, it's covering about 70% of the aircon filter only, vs 100% for the above.

Finally got my Plantower G1 hooked up and started collecting some data.

Data collection is done every 5 minutes, each session will collect 5 successive samples (spanning a duration of ~3.5s). At the start of every collection cycle, the sensor is switch from standby state to running state for 3s for the airflow to stablize, etc (datasheet states that it would take <2s for the sensor to stabilize)

This is preliminary data, need to collect for longer duration.
The trend seems to correlate well based purely by eyeballing (except early in the day, not sure what happened there), but magnitude is

Wah lao, the seller used the grand-daddy of all the china couriers. I think tomorrow early morning 8AM will reach liao. This one is like DHL.
