My sis just texted me saying sunset way area the haze smell is damn strong!

ok lah.....there's a smell, but not VERY strong. :)

50 ug/m3 PM2.5 on my meter.
But NEA is usually lower a fair bit. Perhaps 40-45 ug/m3?

Batam island is totally obscured. Jurong island smoke stacks/chimneys are nearly obscured, barely could see the outline.

Seems to have deteriorated a bit since last post. Now meter showing 65-70 ug/m3.
Peaked at 75 ug/m3.

Thunderstorm south side, dropped to 30 ug/m3.

No 20 ug/m3 range. Dropped very fast due to thunderstorm.

Distinct smell up north, outside Causeway Point. Very distinctive, probably the "strongest" smell this year.

Got people posting in other threads regarding the smell. My 2 meters showed the rise. But interesting readings from NEA.

Yes, NEA readings does not always show the rise. Sometimes it would show up but a couple of hours later (vs my own monitoring).

I have no idea why, but I have been relying on my own monitoring more as there may be (probably not in this case?) localized conditions that affect me more than NEA's sampling points.

Can see liao. We just need the winds to turn a bit Southerly.

So it probably wasn't SE (Kalimantan) haze as earlier thought.

This is from one of my particle counters. A burst of 10 readings is taken every 5 minutes.
The vertical cliff at the end is the AX40 kicking in.

p/s: the relatively gradual slope after 10:30-ish is due to "leakage". One of the top hung window panels was open.
