Just for reference, and if anybody else wondering when getting your spanking new AX40 and found that everything in the documentation is in Korean.

Buttons from left to right:
First four is touch buttons: On/off; Speed selection; VirusDoctor On/off (single touch) + filter change reset (hold a few secs); Child lock (hold a few secs)
Last four is speed indicator: Auto; High; Low; Sleep

Lights on the On/off touch button also functions as air quality indicator: blue, green, yellow, red (something like that)

VirusDoctor is Samsung's fancy name for ionizer function, default is OFF.

Just full blast all the way, can't hear a single thing :s22:

at night, do you leave it in sleep mode or in low mode ?

310mm x 282mm x 45mm cannot fit the AC filter. Don't need the AC filter, most homes do not have a VOC issue. I measured before. Also, on particlecounting tumblr website (that SMART HEPA ang moh guy selling the DIY HEPA fan contraption on TB and website since 2013/2012, the 2013 haze guys would remember this)......he also measured no VOC issue. Same goes for HK homes.

The AX40 cavity can accept up to 50mm depth and you can still close the prefilter.

I customised a 60mm thick HEPA, can still close the external cover, barely. :D I asked him to give me those ultra thin 0.5mm thin netting prefilter that you see on the Sharp filters, or like those outer layer on surgical mask....something like that. Then I stick myself on the 60mm to act as a prefilter. Just vacuum every 1-2 weeks.....

Output wind speed then goes about 10% more than original Samsung. Unfortunately it'd cost due to special customisation, RMB180. $40. So considering originals to be 88, not that wu hua liao.

I customised 45mm filters for Sharp KC-840 - RMB90. AX40 - 110. The big LG PS-R459/LA-379SB with 360mm x 340mm = 140.

All air purifiers have 1 filter installed and comes with it in the original box, be it from Novita/Sharp/LG/etc. Any filter purchase is additional, for future use.

Local AX041 = 479, BEST...GAIN CITY etc.

Thanks for the first explanation. I want to get the AC filter cause one of the AP is for a shop need remove VOC. In that case need to make it thinner think 40mm right? bro WRX you referring to LG 379 model for this measurement right 310mm x 282mm x 45mm? Later go taobao hoot alr

i think the only problem with xiaomi is the lack of ioniser

the noise is due the the JET function which other AP dont have
in fact the jet function is very useful for fast cleansing of the air

on normal mode i think the noise is negligible

any xiaomi users can commend?

pardon my ignorance. I thought the Indo army is helping to put out the fire and there's also water-bombing done? Why isn't the situation getting better?

Is it due to the area is too huge for them to contain the fire?

Hi all...just ordered the Samsung ax40 online.
However, when my colleague saw the spec, he mentioned that it is not a true hepa AP.
Is it true?
