Singtel tech just came and activate my fiber and gave me a 7003. Using 7000 with adsl previously.

Now i want to change the subnet to x.x.0.x but once it restarts the devices cannot obtain dhcp and miotv not detected. Cannot go into web console as well.

Should i use back my 7000 amd forgo the 5GHz wifi?

Edit: i realised miotv only works on port 1

Miotv only works on port 1? Then what about those with 2 STBs?

be it 7000 or 7003, miotv works on all 4 ports out of the box. So i am pretty surprised that it only works on port 1 for hwsinn..

another new user on fibre. after waiting for a month (insufficient capacity). got the 7003 router (-J). my thanks to all the experts who shared info (eg login & password).

i changed my subnet to 192.168.0.* without much issue, and dhcp works (rem to amend the allocation subnet and range as well). but a reboot is needed after change (ignore the error message about some dhcp lease).

a few questions:
1) i am only subscribing to fibre (no miotv, no digital fonline). does it mean only port 1 of ONT is used? i didn't get a led reaction on ONT on other ports
2) i couldn't get my 200MB throughput wireless on my laptop, tho on 5G. guess is wireless N. tried to connect laptop via ethernet directly to the ONT, but cldn't get IP (169.254.*.*). some users were able to connect directly to ONT, why not mine?

thanks in advance for help.

personally, it's a decent router (compared to old aztech routers), but for advance users, guess it's off to netgear.asus...

1) Only Port 1 of ONT is activated. The rest of the 3 ports are deactivated by default. You won't be able to get any thing out of the 3 ports.

2) as long as your free given router is 7003/7002/7000, you won't be able to connect your PC directly to the ONT. However, if you have the appropriate software for vlan settings, you may however do so. This implies all 3rd party routers such as netgear/linksys/asus carry certain models that support vlan function are all able to connect to your ONT.

Some other users are able to use direct ONT because their plans allow them to do so. Eg, only the unlimited fibre is capable of this, while the 200/300/500mbps plans do not.

In short those customer on 100/200/300/500 are all on Vlan tagged data (need set vlan on lan card to access if want to connect direct ONT), only unlimited fibre is on untagged data(plug in ethernet port able to access)......

1) Only Port 1 of ONT is activated. The rest of the 3 ports are deactivated by default. You won't be able to get any thing out of the 3 ports.

It used to work on any port on my 7000. On the 7003, once i connect from port 3 back to port 1, the IPTV status turns to green in a few secs and miotv is running again.

As for the the .0 subnet, i changed the IP and the DHCP pool. Cannot get a IP via LAN or wifi. In fact wifi can authenticate but cannot get IP.

Currently i am using back my 7000 as i do not have alot of time to change the static IPs and play around with the 7003. Performance-wise not much difference. Specs wise is just the wifi

Btw i seem to notice the bridge to wifi is 100mbps? Saw it via the tech login

anyone using synology NAS have problem mapping drive to your computer?

i have a DS410J at home which was working well while i am on my ADSL router, i can use my tablet, phone or computer to browse to my NAS to get file and stream movies.. after i sign up for Fibre and get this 7003GRV modem..

1. cannot map drive, browse to my NAS share folder via phone etc
2. cannot use the USB as print server even though i have enable the print server function on the advance mode.

i switch back to my ADSL router and try again.. drive mapping still work.. funny enough.. i have install the media server on my Synology, my computer and device can "See" it but just that i cannot browse to it..

i can browse to the web admin page of my NAS too.. is the smb port in this 7003GRV block or something? or do i need to enable anything?

Just changed to 7002. technician say 7003 only can support 1 stb, those with 2 stb, you will be stucked with 7002.
7003 is because of firmware restriction, that's why stucked with 1 stb, until Singtel resolves the issue. Can slowly wait.

I have similar problem between my Synology DS413 and wireless devices. Wireless devices, although able to open a TCP port 445 connection with the NAS, are unable to browse the network folders. Ethernet devices, since they don't run through the router, can properly access its network folders.

Haven't been able to figure out what is the cause. Previous Asus wireless router did not face this problem.

Why, upon learning the admin credentials and looking around the advanced configuration pages, I found the culprit.

Poorly configured Quality of Service.

Once QoS is disabled, the wireless devices could readily access the NAS shared folders and their files steadily.

Singtel IPv6 on 7003

I am unsure if the settings for 7003 have been mentioned before to acquire ipv6...

Nevertheless here is the screen shot:

Screen%20Shot%202015-03-14%20at%209.29.16%20am_zpsztpzujma.png

Setting up ipv6 is pretty easy since the settings are already saved in 7003 as a built-in profile.

All you need to do is to enable it, then save the settings.

After which, do a reboot and test via Test your IPv6.

Is it from the 1st generation of 7003?

Funny thing is, the IPv6 works over WiFi and not on LAN.
On LAN, site like Facebook will take forever to load…

Somewhat glad to hear its just a firmware issue. Hopefully ST solve it and it will auto update when i hook up my 7003 if i need to use it
